Well, I guess that answers my question about whether Sarah Larson got the invite to the Nobel Laureate event where George and Don Cheadle are set to be honored tomorrow night. After a quick stop in Milan, the couple was in Rome last night having a romantic dinner. Clooney is in town to be lauded for his work with Darfur, and the actor announced that he has plans to return to the area in January. He spoke to USA Today about it:
Q: What's the plan?
A: I'm not a politician, so the reason I go is to (focus) attention there. So we're going to try to get deeper into Darfur; try to get some cameras in to the tougher camps and have conversations. That's basically all I can do. If you put famous people in front of very ugly sites, people will watch.Q: Have you been following your pal Brad Pitt's crusade in New Orleans?
A: It's a life choice for him and a big part of his life. Matt (Damon) does that, too. Don (Cheadle). A lot of the guys who are good friends of mine spend a good portion of their life doing this. In some ways, it's easier for us because we have some financial security, so we can say, "OK, let's stop worrying about ourselves and look out for other people." What should you do with all this kind of attention? Should you get out of a car without wearing underwear … ?
For more on that (and see what George has to say about himself sans skivvies) plus photos of him and Sarah in Rome just read more
Q: No, George. Please. Never.
A: You've never seen me. I look fantastic.Q: How will you be spending the holidays?
A: I don't do a big Christmas thing. I think Christmas at some point is for having a bunch of kids, so I just get through the holidays. I have a lot of work to do.
Even if they don't have a big Christmas planned, the couple is certainly getting in the holiday season romance time in Italy (perhaps Como is next? Lucky girl). Obviously she would want to come on this "business trip," but I wonder if she'll choose to sit Darfur out or share in her man's passion for the area?
P.S. I think there are quite a few women out there who would welcome those Clooney-no-underwear shots.

What a hypocrite - regarding that panties remark! There are dozens of pics out there showing his go-go waitress/escort/whatever without panties on several occasions. How classy - not!
1Is it just me or do all of these famous people just take turns being honored/honoring each other every year?
I wish we would wait until after the conflict is resolved, after the adopted children have been raised, after New Orleans has been revitalized and is thriving, and after reversing the effects of global warming BEFORE honoring the people who made a difference.
Another celebrity honored? Oh that's right, they are called CELEBRITIES.

3Amen tabitha!
4"what should you do with all this kind of attention? Should you get out of a car without wearing underwear … ?"
I would not mind if its Georgie boy
5Why excatly is everyone being so hatefull. Are you going to Darfur? Are you donating tons of money to rebuild a city that has been devestated by a natural disaster? There are regular people honored and recognized every day as well, but are YOU paying attention to them. No, your choosing to focus on the celebrity aspect. So what if the celebrities get noticed more. At least it brings more attention to the issues. Most people just don't think about them (the issues), unless it's put right in thier face. In this celebrity obsessed world it makes sense. They should be commended for that.
6At some point I agree with Tabitha26... most regular/common people get recognitions after results, but as you mentioned they are celebrities, so everything they do will be under the scoop.... at least I can see they are committed, for example Brad I can see he is really committed to the NOLA project
7preach it tabitha..
8drats, I can't say enough, how lucky Sarah is!
9^hahahahaha
10Although there is a lot of people like Steven Spielberg that do tons of donations on we never hear of it...
11what does Sarah do besides be Georges Clooney's girlfriend? Is she a employed?
12celebs raise awareness, but politicians still dont listen to them, they have very little influence in that realm. sometimes i wonder if they do it genuinely or if its just for publicity, either way i guess its good?
13I think Sarah is employed by George, if you know what I mean.
14She seems like a regular person and regular people don't seemingly quit their jobs, apartments, lifestyles, etc. unless it's for something major, like a job. And Sarah seems to be doing quite well for herself. It's cool.
15the most boring couple in the universe.
16"Save the world, blah, blah blah, blah, Darfur, blahblah blah,New Orleans, blahblahblahblah, climate change, blahblahblahblah, Brad, blahblahblahblah, Matt, blabhalbhah", this is how every clooney interview goes, so annoying.
17I need help with this one:
I am so offended that he took her along to this event. One of the tragedies that the people of Darfur is the women are being raped viciously and by more than one man. They are being raped and sexually exploited to humiliate thevmen, they are being treated as objects. AND HE BRINGS A WOMAN WHO OBJECTIFIES HERSELF SEXUALLY to an event that is suppose honor his effort to help exploited women. Does George Clooney really care about the women of Darfur or is this a cause he jumped on a bandwagon to get more attention for himself.
*takes George Clooney of screensaver replaces with Brad Pitt screen saver* Help me see from his point
of view, please I want to like George again, but it is hard right now.
18I think people are being overdramtic about this. If celebrities didnb't do charity work, people would say they are being so selfish, etc. but when they do and try to raise awarness, they are considered boring, etc. Another thing that celebrities can't win peroid. I just wonder if people just like celebrities so they can cut them down to make themselves feel better....
19I think it's great. This brings awareness upfront because people do forget unless reminded. Off topic though, I think George might keep this one and go the route of Matt and marry a non celebrity. This relationship is longer then most people expected, including me.
20osaka george has had longer relationships he's even lived with some women for over 2 years, 3 months means nothing, he'll dump her just like the rest
21That's right, wasn't he married before? Oh well, this three months thing is longer then I expected.
22my original intention in writing a comment was to say that sara is *stunning* which i think she is. but what is all this other business? is she really a "go-go waitress/escort/whatever"??? i haven't been on pop in like a month, but needless to say, I AM CONFUSED!
*help*
23Precious, she was a cocktail waitress/dancer in Las Vegas. She called in after hooking up with George and told her boss she wasn't coming back anytime soon. Now she hangs with George (not a bad job) if you can get it. Can't say that I blame her. But she'll want more out of him at some point and he's clear that he'll never get married again so we'll see how long she hangs out. But it's not like she has anything better to do. Some of his previous girlfriends actually had jobs they had to maintain. I think he picked her because she didn't have any ties. Makes it easier for her to give him all her attention.
24Well precious p, there are videos from the n9ne .com, that would indicate that she is a gogo dancer/stripper.
25Everyone keeps saying no matter what gossip site, that she is a paid escort. I just can't believe that one, but it could be possible. What woman gives up a job to lay around a man's house all day? Especially a man who is a known commitmentphobe. I had a theory she was an actress playing a role, to generate attention for George Clooney's upcoming movies. He only gets paid for his Michael Clayton after it earns back the production cost and I'm pretty sure he has the same deal for Leatherheads. That makes more sense than that girl being a professional.
I dont believe in charity work.
26well well well i think he realy cares about darfur and like all that bla bla bla come on look at him he is having alot of great time and he look happy with his pal sarah i think she amazing for him and no they r not boring at all .the darfur isue is getting better and better because of him without him believe me no one will ever try to make any Salvation Movement all what will they do is looking at them and say thanks god we'r still okay .we have to help them but we have to help and that's what george clooney try to do in every country he goes in he is trying to do anything for darfur we have to learn from this country that we still safe and all we can do is parying for them to survive and for us to keep save
27hey, look what I found --

28pretty lady!
29THEY ARE SUCH A BEAUTIFUL COUPLE. I LIKE THEM TOGETHER .THIS ONE IS FOR KEEP GEORGE.
30Why are people bashing her so? As I look at those pictures, I beginning to feel sorry for her and I hope she don't get hurt in the end. GC is no Cary Grant. Cary Grant had class professionally and personally. Good Luck Sarah.
31No one is actually bashing her here. I just stated with her background it may be inappropriate to take her that ceremony.
She lived her life on film and now it is coming back to haunt her.
32George Clooney and his publicist created all this negativity towards Sarah. They knew she wasn't a cocktail waitress/model actress, but a stripper and if the gossip is true a Vegas prostitute. They knew those pictures and videos were out there and that eventually the prostitution talk was going to come out. I believe Sarah is in on all this as well. She gets free publicity and maybe a tv/film career. George is getting tons of free publicity and Sarah is enjoying the ride. They have created the perfect marketing machine, because it seems like every week there is some new dirt on this girl. George and Sarah chose to be public with their relationship, openly kissing in a restaurant, calling the paps to let them where they are, so they must accept the criticism good or bad.
sarah is daaaaaamn lucky girl!!
33well george.......... baby......my name is sara too....
