Reese took a break from filming Four Christmases in SF to spend some time shopping for her own upcoming holiday in LA yesterday. We bet it's nice when stars get to take a little time off from work to go home, but in Reese's case, she might also be enjoying a break from her co-star. Apparently she and Vince Vaughn have been a clashing a bit over their varying work ethics. Gatecrasher reports:
"Vince rolls onto set in the morning looking like he just came in from a night out, while Reese will arrive early looking camera-ready. Then Reese tries to force Vince into blocking out each scene and running through their lines as Vince tries to convince her that he's an ad-libber and wants to play around and see where the scene goes. She's a one-take perfectionist and Vince likes to try it a few different ways. Sometimes Vince will be standing behind her and he has this look on his face that he just wants to kill her!"
Yikes — this all sounds pretty harsh, although we can totally envision Reese as the professional while Vince is the joker on set. Luckily, they're both such great actors that we bet the tension never even shows up on camera.

I can totally see this happening. Reese is a professional, and Vince just likes to goof off.
i feel reese's pain there is nothing worse than being stuck with someone who wants to go with the flow. Which is why i will never work in a profession where i have a team.

this should get interesting

i can pictured this happening too.
lets see, oscar winner and fly by the seat of his pants. hard to believe this didn't come up when they were casting. their styles must be well known w/i the industry.
oh no, that totally is difficult. i wouldn't want to be in reese's shoes too, it's annoying to be working with someone who doesn't share the same work ethics as you.
I would think the director would have more of an influential opinion on this than either of the actors. Plus, you have to have SOME of it blocked so that they can "match" shots in editing.
I am kind of doubting this story though. When there are stories about what people say or what they are feeling, it is so easy to make up!
I can definitely see this happening, but who knows ... I love both of them!
haha...i'd totally love to see this in person! i get why Reese would be annoyed and i would be very annoyed too! vince vaughn is too old to go out every night. you can definitely see the effects of all that partying on his bloated, dark-circled face.
I can see this happening, but I doubt that there is much drama coming from it. Probably just a lot of director's guidance for each scene and fake niceness from both sides if they are getting irritated. Neither of them seem like divas.
This remind me of what the director of "Legally Blond" said about Reese, he said something like she take her work too seriously and she isn't fun to work with.
A lot of these stories I read sound really made up like someone was bored and just started typing something. Not this one, I can total see this about both of them.
This doesn't really surprise me at all. I have a feeling that Reese wants to do a great job and a perfect shot, walk away and get on with her life (or retake the shot if it's not perfect) whereas Vince wants to keep iterating until he's happy with it (after all, partying doesn't start until late). I feel sort of bad for both!
Haha yea I could see this happeneing too! Sounds like both of them!
Vince needs to grow up.
Poor Reese - she seems a bit too serious to work with VInce. Love them both though!
I can totally see this, too. Doesn't really seem like one is right and one is wrong- just different. They are two of my favorites.
I can see this... I bet there is no chemistry between the two of them.
Go for it Vince....hahaha...
Not going to make for a great film.. Surely they can compromise and do it both ways.. walk through it then try it a few ways..
I still don't see them working as an on-screen couple... I don't think they'll have any chemistry...
Why am I seeing her as her character in Election (was that the name???). Strike a balance, people.
I am so not surprised. She's on the rigid side and he's on the irresponsible side. I bet they hate each other.
Nothing wrong with either of their methods, just too bad they have to work so closely together and cramp each other's style.
This is why I never thought they should have been cast together in the first place. I love them both separately, but they SO CLEARLY don't go well together.
She's admitted to being a classic example of a type A personality-part of what makes her so professional and successful. She's been called 'The General' by previous co-workers. I think they meant it affectionately though. Maybe Vince will have to step it up a bit here or maybe he can get her to relax a little bit. Should be fireworks either way!
vince should realize that she's talented and has won awards for drama and acclaim for her comedic delivery. yes he's got his style - but it's old...he does the SAME Thing in every movie
Yup,wonder if they look good together on screen.
i hope this is not true
I believe. The story goes with how I would imagine both of them to be. Not that either way is wrong or right, I just hope they are both professional enough to work together to make a good movie, after all thats what its all about.
Vince is more of the comedian. And he should respect the fact that Reese is not use to working with people that fool around like him on the ser. Reese does the job and gets it over with.
BUT the Reese should also respect the fact that Vince will not change much for her, work ethic wise. If all this is true, then they need to talk one on one and decide which is a better way to get the filming of this movie done. Reese & Vince can have better chemistry if they work out their differences at an early state.
I can definately see this happening on set. They're mismatched when it comes to what each beleives is the best way to make a movie.
They should just act like adults on this one, and come to a decision on how they can work together like professionals.
ITA with you ilanac13!
Well to be honest "Fun" and "work" don't nessissarily work well together. I like that Reese is Driven and Professional, i don't think she takes work too seriously, i think she knows what she wants and how she wants it and what to do to get it. There's a time to be a joker and a time to work and reese has those perfectly balanced
i can see her not getting along with vince as well...he doesn't take things seriously AT ALLL
I've also heard Vince is somewhat of an a** in general...if nothing else THAT would drive me nuts
He needs to grow up, but she always plays the perfectionist nerd so there's gotta be something to it. What an annoying personality
