Madonna showed off some unfortunate roots out to dinner at Cipriani in London last night. She must have been out to celebrate because yesterday was a big day for the pop icon — she was voted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Congrats! Just because she's a hall of famer now it certainly doesn't mean she's getting ready to retire anytime soon — in 2007 she embarked on a ground breaking new contract with Live Nation, and she's gearing up for another huge album release in 2008. Other pop stars may come and go, but Madonna is forever.

I can't stand her and don't think she's been any good in well over a decade, but she does deserve the honor. I guess.
1Those ARE some major roots!
2Yeah, those roots are unfortunate. Although the ends look so fried, maybe she's trying to grow it out and start over.
Try washing, too.
3Huge roots, and what's with the hair split down the middle? It looks awful on all people (at least, I can't think of anyone with that "style" that looked good), and Madonna should lay off it.. I think she is really talented, but she should take some advice from her hairstylist, or get one..
4I don't think a middle part is automatically unflattering, I know some people that look good in it. In certain styles, my hair looks best with a middle part.
But a middle part that's flat on top and then poofy once it hits the ears? That's Bozo.
5ugly old hasbeen!
6so unworthy of the Hall of Fame. Still, the Hall has become pretty much a joke anyway.
7you guys are rough, geez! she's 49! i think the regrowth is fine and it reminds me of her video for burning up. excellent video! plus if you look at the closeup pic, i dont see any gray hair in that regrowth nor any forhead wrinkles, she looks kik ass for her age. can't wait for the new cd. finally something i will be able to sing to(unlike every other cd that is ever released) i can't sing, neither can she but at least when i sing with madonna i feel good! rock on!
8AH AH AH AHHHHHHHHH I LOVE YOU MADONNA!!!! I would pass OUT if I saw her out and about.
9i never understood the facination with her!
10You'd think that she could afford to keep up her roots. Gross. Not even remotely classy. Not even with the fake accent that she assumes we all think is real.
11well...shes the Queen Of Pop, the biggest female pop star, so...she obviously deserve the honor!!
12rock n' roll?
13She may be the Queen of Pop, but it's NOT the Pop Hall of Fame.
14It's about time.. I mean yes on the surface she is a POP star . POP is short obviously for Popular and that she is. She had commanded and has every-one's attention. To me she holds a special place because she's done a lot for the Gay, Lesbian, Bi Sexual, and Transgender community.
15I've been to a couple of her concerts (back in the late 80's 90's)and she is really entertaining...she gives her all.
But seriously, I thought my roots were sticking out! LOL!
And thank you Greggie because I wear my hair split down the middle sometimes but it doesn't look anything like hers in these pics! Yikes.
16So with all that money she has, she can't get her roots touched up? How tacky. I'm way over Madonna.
17OMG!!! What is up with the spammer comments!!! Ugh. Velar..go away!!!!
18I hate these new spammers. They're all over the internet.
19I guess the black roots are to match her black coat.......
Spammers should not be allowed.

if you are of any female singer in pop music, than you have madonna to thank. love her or hate her, she is the reason why females are a force to be reckoned with in pop music.
21I thought that the ROCK and ROLL Hall of fame was set up to honor ROCK artists. I agree that she's made contributions to Pop music (for better or for worse), but she's not a rock artist, and I don't believe she deserves to be inducted.
22if you are of any female singer in pop music, than you have madonna to thank. love her or hate her, she is the reason why females are a force to be reckoned with in pop music.
Since I'm not a fan of pop music, and I'm not a pop musician, I don't have to appreciate her at all. I'm a indie girl and my better half is an indie guy. And actually, I would argue that Madonna is the reason women are a "force to reckon with" in pop music. Women have always been influential in pop music.
23oops, hit submit too soon. She may have introduced power playing and money making to the forefront for women musicians as she absolutely IS the consummate business and marketing woman, but MUSICALLY, I don't think she's that original or influential at all.
24100% deserved. In my opinion at least. Congrats to her
25I reported all the spammers comments and nothing is being done about it. They should at least remove them.
I also reported a comment on another post where the person called everyone a$$holes but it hasn't been removed. Yet my comments always seem to be deleted when I use the word a$$. ????
26oh!! look at her hair!! she looks like she hasn't any money 4 shampoo!
27Great! Madonna, you rock!!!!
28pad-women have been successful in pop music but have not withstood the test of time. many of these women came to the forefront during the disco era but couldnt get out from under it. madonna was able change her sound and her fans not only followed but she was able to acquire new ones. there have been many successful women in rock, granted but with the exception of janis joplin none have really been solo and have had the kind of success that madonna has. i think that they only female in pop that may be comparable to madonna is cher. im not saying you have to like her but if you take away indie bias for a second, you can see that her contribution to music is evident.
29The category is a bit off from her music's genre.
30Might be time to get the roots done.
31I'm surprised she left the house with her hair like that. It's not just the roots, but the whole style. It looks like she let it air-dry when she washed it 5 days ago.
32Madonna,Is the best pop singer ever!Noone will or has ever outlasted her!You all can have your new pop singers I will stick with the old!YOU GO MADONNA!I have been your fan for years and still Will be!
33She’s definitely a music icon and deserves credit for it (and a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame).
34Although I don’t dig her latest albums, I used to enjoy her music in the 80’s and 90’s.
