Yesterday we were totally taken off guard by the news that 16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant [1], and now we have some details from her surprising (and probably lucrative) exclusive interview with OK! Magazine [2]. It sounds like she wasn't expecting the news, and even kept it to herself to process for a while before telling anyone. Plus, she's planning to raise her child in Louisiana so he or she can "have a normal family life." Maybe she learned something from Brit after all? Here are highlights from the interview: [3]

• On learning the news: "It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected...I was in complete and total shock and so was he...As soon as I found out for sure from the doctor, I took two weeks to myself where I didn't tell anybody...Only one of my friends knew because I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone's opinion affect my decision. Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me."
• Lynne on her daughter's pregnancy: "I didn't believe it because Jamie Lynn's always been so conscientious. She's never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby."
• On premarital sex (why even ask): "I definitely don't think it's something you should do; it's better to wait, but I can't be judgmental because it's a position I put myself in."

Still, wow. Also, Jamie Lynn was supposedly seen [4] going to see Juno [5] in NYC on Monday. How appropriate. In related news, Lynne Spears' parenting book has been "delayed indefinitely."
