Natalie Portman made her way through LAX on Wednesday, trying to keep a low profile behind the New York Times. We know that Natalie is a woman of the world and a big philanthropist, but she's also one of our favorite stylish young celebrities. She's even going to try her hand at designing her own vegan shoe collection for Te Casan. Natalie's clearly got an eye for fashion, and we can't wait to check out her animal-friendly wares.

Unless she's selling us flats, this is right up there with using Scarlett Johanssen to sell us Reebok. Not. Buying. It. She's not the shoe girl type.
I can't even remember a single instance of seeing candids of her and going 'ooh, where'd she get those shoes?' Never happened.
I'd sooner take the Olsens and Lindsay Lohan and I can't stand them. But they DO work the shoe angle.
1I dont remember her wearing nice shoes.
2This would be interesting.
3how cool
4Good point guys, the Reebok/Scarlet thing never went anywhere. Same with Mischa and Keds! Wow this could be a big bomb for Portman.
5Check the Te Casan site, it has a great publicity pic of her sporting red pumps. I love Nat, I really do but that black and white gingham shirt and plaid brown shearling coat looks cheap and tacky. The gray scarf is o.k.
6I don't remember her ever having any type of "Stand-out" style that anyone would want to copy, or share !! She's plain Jane.

this is very typical for natalie. she's the kind of person to be fashionable - yet think about environmental and social aspects too. good for her - but i don't know if i'd be one to try those shoes
9When I first learned about vegan shoes I always thought of like wrapping banana leaves on your feet and using an avocado seed as a heel or something like that.
10Vegan shoes!?! I'm so excited to see what the collection will look like.
11It's great when celebs use their fame to do good This is much better than stupid Eva Mendez and her naked butt!
I'm a vegan so this is great news to me. I hope there will be some male-shoes too cuz my fiance does have a problem finding shoes that he can wear. Vegan female shoes isn't that hard to find in my country Sweden tho....only warm wintershoes.
12The reason she has never been a "shoe girl" before is because most brands use LEATHER in their shoes. Since she is against that, she doesn't wear them.
I think the proof will be in the shoes. She has great style in clothes, and maybe she can liven up the no-animal clothing market.
13I like the concept, but not sure about it at the same time.
14I'm not a shoegirl either. But I think it'll be great to see what she designs. I like her style, attitude, and work.
15I have that shirt!
16she seems like such a snob
17I love the idea, let's just hope their affordable and available to the normal girl out there.
18blah blah
19I like the idea...however I don't think I'd ever find a shoe designed by Natalie Portman stylish.
20Interesting to see what they look like....hmmm
21she seems like she is such a level-headed girl, and I love the charity work she does with microlending. I read a recent interview where she was talking about growing up in the business, and how involved her parents were in making sure the things she did were appropriate and with good people. Too bad other celebrity kids don't have such good parents; she seems to have turned out really well.
