From these quotes, it doesn't sound like it was really Lindsay who was personally honored, but that because she is famous and acts, and was there, they were honored to have her there.

1.) The Capri Film Festival isn't an important or notable film festival. There are probably at least 20 other film festivals that have far more importance.

2.) Can you say cheap advertising?

Man sometimes when Europeans have money they really don't know what to do with themselves, kind of like The world Music awards. Maybe the people of Capri have it all backwards and think that Lindsay's Personal life has been her acting contribution to Hollywood.

she is a good actress, and I do always like to watch her movies (I did skip these two however); I feel sorry for these girls, dumped into such an awful system where every second of their day is scrutinized and judged, and even their "friends" are selling pictures and information about them, and all of it way before they can have any idea of what it all means. It's good to not be famous.

Obviously the last of her movies they have seen was "Freaky Friday"....

First: that is my favorite Prada store... I bought some amazing leather loafers and black court heels less than a year ago.

Second: Capri is one of my favorite vacation spots... it's chic, elegant, unbelievably beautiful and fun to visit!

The Lilo thing is whatever... the island is bellisima! And the Caprese people are tres cool.

Film festivals are there in order to do 2 things: get distribution deals for new independant movies, and to drum up buzz for award season for studio films. Since the nominees for many awards have already been chosen, and the oscar nominating ballots are being received this week, this festival does not have much importance. In Italy, the Venice and Rome festivals are much more important and they are earlier in the year. The film festivals in Telluride, Sundance, and Tribeca are where many indy films get their biggest launch in the US. Plus, the International Federation of Film Producers Association has categorized 12 international film festivals as being "Level 1" festivals, meaning they are the most respected. Capri isn't on that list. The fact is that the US and UK are in high gear for the BAFTA and Oscars, and are campaigning in their countries for that. The timing of this festival alone pretty much makes it irrelevant, because few actually have the time to go there. Not to mention, aren't you the least suspicious of a film festival that is awarding Hayden an award for career achievement?

See, I had a factual basis for my opinion, it wasn't just based on personal bias for whatever stars I like/dislike. I know you like Lindsey, but that shouldn't be the basis for every opinion. Facts should have some sort of impact, don't you think?
