I agree with Luna and Padraigin - this is not the 1st time she's made these "the British sh*t gold and Americans suck" remarks, and she's only sorry b/c she got caught. She's so full of it. By t he way, little children pick up foreign accents after a short period, Gwyneth, not adults. That's just one example of her b.s. She's so affected.

She is constantly making snobbish remarks. I don't think she is a bad person, and I'm sure she is proud to be American, but she just seems so out of touch with how average folks live.

Yeah, it's so annoying how Madonna and Gwyneth have all of a sudden picked up British accents. They just sound ridiculous. I've lived in the South now for two years, and I don't speak with a drawl. I still have my "Noo Yawk" accent.
My kids, on the other hand, are starting to say, " Yes, m'aam", and asking me to make them sweet tea. LOL

To actually believe that a nation of people find her so influential in their own lives that they would get back at her by snubbing her brother's work, just to punish her . . . well, THAT is its own special brand of mental defect. ok, I have to at least be devils advocate. I , to a certain degree , agrree with SOME of her comments. I think the media has kind of chosen her as an amusing topic with her rants, yet I actually see her point. There are cultural differences in America and the U.K., and I do think America is a young country that does not have half the cultural background as the countries in Europe. All in all, I love our country , but I think to judge us as a whole is a bit harsh, we have so many different types of people here, but I think many of her comments are geared torwards the shallowness of Hollywood.

Some of us are too absorbed in running our own lives, we do not have time to worry about the stupid comments that come out of snobby people's asses....I mean mouths.

I hate it when celebrities make a stupid statement then try to say they didn't say it at all or that they were misquoted or misunderstood. I guess that just shows how dumb they think Americans are. Ms. Paltrow is one of the worst of the bunch along with Madonna. They are so out of touch with reality, not to mention full of themselves.

I don't think people will boycott Gwyeneth's brother's film because he has a self-absorbed snob as a sister. It's not his fault! I like her mother - I think she seems sweet and is a good actress. Gwyeneth irritates me.

She says the same damn things over and over again and never can seem to control her anti-American diarrhea of the mouth. I don't agree with a lot of what this country is doing right now, but to group everyone together and imply we're classless is just ridiculous.

I don't think her brother's film will be affected, but if this gets her thinking about shutting up trap for a change, then I'm all for it.

yeah, she is worried about her brother AND her super rich lucrative contract with estee lauder. they probably told her to shut the heck up! she should be ashamed of herself. after all, who supports her lame hollywood career? the very people she insults with her foolish remarks. it is obvious to anyone that she judges all people by the rich and selfish elites in her circles and knows absolutely nothing about the "common" people.

You can love something dearly or have great pride in it but NOT to the point where you become or seem hateful, spiteful and/or xenophobic. Her speaking "from the heart" about her love for England and her dislike for majority of Americans/American culture almost reminds me of like how the Klan says they aren't racist they just have a lot of pride and love for the white race. That comparison just keeps popping into my head. What did she expect the general American reaction to her comments would be?! Seriously.

Give the woman a break. The supposed 'quote' came from a Portugese newspaper that didn't even interview her. It's been completely taken out of context and mistranslated to make it more sensational than it actually was.

Only six months ago the press reported that she'd said how utter horrible England was and how she preferred the US. Make up your minds! It's simply a stupid media-created frenzy and everyone has, predicatably, gone crazy about it. The only reason the media write this kind of thing is because everyone just accepts it as true and it becomes sensational.

She's a good wife and mother. And at least she's not running around getting wasted in front of as many paps as possible, flashing her lack of underwear at anyone with a camera l That counts for a lot in my book.

About 99% of the stuff you've read about Gwyneth is based on people that have never met her, or met her for five minutes. Give her a break - she really doesn't deserve some of the comments people have left.

As for what she and her husband have choosen to call their children, that's none of anyone's business but theirs and has nothing to do with any of this.
