Jessica was in tears after she messed up the words to 9-5 during a tribute to Dolly Parton at the Kennedy Center Honors earlier this month. Before running off the stage Jessica said, "Dolly you make me so nervous. I can't even sing the words right." Jess has now decided she doesn't want to be included in the broadcast of the show airing December 26th. Here's more:
Simpson botched the lyrics when she originally performed the song live, then recorded it again for the broadcast show. However, ultimately Simpson's spokesperson, Cindi Berger, told the Associated Press after Simpson had viewed the tape, "She really wasn't happy with her performance, and she did want it to be perfect for Dolly, who she idolizes."
George Stevens Jr., the show's producer, said, "We appreciate the time and energy Ms. Simpson put into this event and respect the high standards she has for herself and that of the Kennedy Center Honors."
We're really bummed that we won't be able to see Jessica in the tribute. Sounds like she's just still embarrassed and wants to forget about the whole thing.

I think people made it into a big deal. So she mest up so she mest up on a line or two, now biggie. People make mistakes. I don't think she meant to do it on purpose.

15It seems unprofessional to now refuse to be in the tribute when it's on TV. Didn't the rerecord it without her messing up for the broadcast anyway? I would have more respect for her if she just accepted she messed up instead of being a diva who refuses to be part of the broadcast when they recorded it anyway.
16That is so unprofessional.. first you don't learn the words to the song of an artist you "supposedly" idolize..then you botch the lyrics even though you had a teleprompter (you can read right Jess) then you clutch your stomach the whole time, blame it on nerves, insist on a redo then want to back out all together... problems with dedication, hard work and follow thru..kind of like your marriage?

Well....the good news is there is such a thing as bad publicity.... Her 15 mins have been up for months.
37Jessica having a case of pre-performance jitters is one thing! But she proved she is a "minor talent" to say the least...so I'm not surprised at her level of performance. This girl is suppose to be a "pro", which means she should have been able to handle a case of "nerves".

I think the reason she looks so awkward is because of the wayshe is holding her neck and trying to stand up so tall and sticking her arms out. If she would put her arms down she would have all that armpit fat going on, and then her upper arms would double in size.

49It was a tribute to Dolly Parton...she had no choice, but to sing one of Dolly's songs and this was the song that was picked (more than likley by the music director of the Kennedy Center Honors) for Jessica to sing. Jessica knew in advance what the song was, and yet she didn't know the words, Jessica is not a "pro", plain and simple!
But, she has kept her "panties" on unlike the other piece of useless "Wonder Bread" Brit.
Jess is "Wonder Bread"! She never should have been choosen for the Kennedy Center Honors and this just proves it!
