Katherine Heigl tied the knot with Josh Kelley over a week ago, and we were wondering how long it would be before we'd get to see some photos of their wedding ceremony. Apparently she was really strict about not allowing guests to bring cameras, and it turns out that she sold the exclusives to OK! Magazine (shocker). Here's a first glance at Katherine looking gorgeous in her usual old Hollywood style wedding gown. In the article she talks about planning her wedding around the Christmas holiday and getting ready to spend her life with Josh. Here are highlights:
- On how they picked a date: "I don't think either one of us was thinking a Christmas wedding. Originally it was because I only get two weeks a year for my Christmas vacation . . . but then we really got excited about it."
- On their holiday theme: "We wanted to do it in a place that felt like a Winter wonderland. We incorporated lots of big evergreens in the reception with twinkle lights and Christmas decorations."

Sounds like Katherine ended her big year with the wedding of her dreams. Even though she got on our nerves quite a bit last year, we wish her and Josh all the best in 2008.

10Josh always looks like he's wearing eye makeup. He's like the Pete Wentz (sp?) of Alterna Country only not as cute. (I don't think Josh is cute at all and Pete barely is)

27le e, i agree with you that what katherine decided to do with her hair, make up, etc. is pretty much what i predicted.
anyhow i have a question: what is the big deal with OK! magazine? i mean many celebs just sell photos to them. i always thought they were like US Weekly or In Touch. If i was celeb i probably would chose People if i had to pick a tabloid-like mag to sell my photos. Or maybe OK! is like People, which then i guess understand the deal with OK.

Who asks their family and friends NOT to bring a camera? I guess so the only pics anyone sees are the ones SHE got paid for. That is bull sh*t! I am on the fence with Katherine, I'm not sure if I love her or hate her. This really sticks in my side though. "Mom, Dad, Sisters, Aunts & Uncles, don't bring your camera because I want to make money on my wedding day, not treat it like the celebration it should be. I am being greedy. Thanks for coming."

I have no clue and no one has been able to answer that question for me either.
Whatever they case, they seem to have cornered the market but I never buy their mag.

33Actually, they met when she was shooting his music video. From what I have seen of him in interviews, he seems like a really nice down to earth guy. As someone said, he is much cuter than Peter Wentz with all those tattoos! Also, it's nice that he looks like a man.

46Since people we're asking about OK!...
Even though the mag is relatively new stateside, it is huge in the UK and english speakers in Europe. It has more of the reputation of the US'"People" (except the English always take it a little farther with what they'll print).
There are also version of OK! in India, Spain, Latin American, and Eastern Europe too I think. Essentially, it's a huge conglomerate. So I think that if you get your pictures in one, you get them in all (if you're known in that country). I think especially the UK market is huge. I can't remember who told me this, but the British buy more tabloids per capita than any other country. (I can't verify that, but my experience living over there would lead me to believe it's true).
Anyway, it's kind of a calculated thing financially, I think, to go with OK! because you know it can a) end up in so many markets and b) get into markets where people will be more likely to buy it, thus enhancing your fame and bring in more money and so on and so forth.
47OK is also more positive about celebs than many other magazines. I've only read a few snarky comments in it. I really like Katherine. I think it's great to state your opinion, even though you know that people are going to disagree and bad mouth you for doing so. And please be honest. Most people will do alot of things for money. If I had someone waving 10 mil in my face for some pics of my wedding or kid, I'd snatch that up. Why? diapers, baby food and then college are all expensive. There's no harm in saving up as much as possible for your future.
