Hatin' on "Waffle House" is NOT hot!!!
1I'm glad someone called Jessica on stealing that cookbook stuff.
2Eminem! Get better!!! Wow, he's becomgin a big boy!
Adn Missy Chase Lapine - get over it
3
i hope eminem gets well soon..and tom cruise needs to quit while hes ahead.
4Plagiarism is so not cool. Yuck.
90 MILLION!!!! And they're not done filming? It better be a kick butt movie to recoup all that cash.
5I would like to see a pic of Eminem, i don't believe it. He has always been really thin.
Jessica could at least admit she stole from the other book. I would be happy if she sent me 21 pairs of shoes!
I am sure Tom has tons of money, maybe it is time to retire. His career is definately not what it used to be and it's his fault for acting so nutty.
6Oprah sure knows how to pick'em!!!
7I'm with you Tiabia. Best hangover cure at Waffle House: patty melt, hashbrowns scattered/smothered/covered, and a vanilla coke. As much as I can't stand Kid Rock, Waffle House is the place to be after going out.
8Seriously, careful with the waffle house slams. There is NOTHING in the world like those hasbrowns. Glad to see some other Sugar readers agreeing with me!
9how did jerry marry that wench
10I think the plagiarism suit is ridiculous! I'm sure neither of them are the first or last to think of hiding veggies in food! If it's plagiarism to write a book on the same topic then we would only have one Italian cookbook, one soul food cookbook, one salad cookbook, the list goes on and on. The author who is suing should be happy that Jessica came out with her book because she has also benefited from people who have decided to buy her book also...all of a sudden. It's a ridiculous lawsuit!
11She stole actual recipes and word-for-word instructions/anecdotes. That does qualify as plagiarism.
12i'm with the waho fans.....there is NOTHING else like their food...i crave the hashbrowns, they're amazing!!!
13"She stole actual recipes and word-for-word instructions/anecdotes. That does qualify as plagiarism."
Do you have the link to that, I'd like to see it.
14Tom, it's time to retire!
15I don't have a link, I've simply seen both books and you can very clearly see that Seinfeld's is not original work.
16I doubt Oprah will give Jessica Seinfeld the "James Frey" treatment.
17I think I read somewhere that the publishing co. had denied that lady's cookbook and then Jessica suddenly came out with a very similar one not to long after.
Its just a little too coincidental. I'm glad she's suing, too.
18Lady O picked ANOTHER LIAR??????? hmmmm
then jerry S. made fun of the woman on TV???? I hope she cleans up after this suit!
i guess waffle house isnt classy enough?
i dont believe eminem blew up like that. i hope not...
19I'm glad she's suing. Jessica Stein lifted huge portions of her work. The idea itself isn't novel, taking recipes, instructions, etc. is stealing.
I too think the fact that Lapine's manuscript was rejected and later the same publishing company came out with a book just like it, with some celebs wife as the author isn't a coincidence.
I hope she takes them to the cleaners.
20How exactly does one go about proving that an idea is theirs? I mean really, have no two people ever come up with the same idea? I mean, my boyfriend and I have the same ideas all the time, and I dont get mad at him for stealing from me! If no two people ever shared the same idea, we would still be living in the stone ages!
21The other lady is just pissed that Jessica is getting so much recognition for her book, when no one probably even heard of her book until Jessica "copied" it! But then..id probably be pretty pissed too.
22Because Lapine had already submitted the manuscript, recipes, instructions, and anecdotes.
23I hope Em feels better.. I miss seeing his smart ass around.
24She's not suing for stealing the idea. She's suing for plagiarism - Jessica flat-out stealing direct passages from the book.
I think the defamation of character part of the lawsuit is silly, but I think the plagiarism part is dead on.
25Go Lapine! I've been following the story since it started and definitely side with her.
26Waffle House is THE BOMB!!!
27Here's the link of the passages:

Again, it's not the idea that's being debated, but the stolen anecdotes, instructions, etc.
28I can't even imagine a 200-pound Eminem...
29ah...gotchya...Ive never even seen either of these books, so I really wouldnt know.
30I'm really interested in seeing how Lapine's lawsuit develops. If indeed, Jessica Seinfeld is guilty of plagarism it would be disgraceful. Also, I thought it was very inappropriate of Jerry to disparage Lapine on David Letterman. I was disturbed by that.
31I have an extreme distaste for The Seinfelds...especially Jessica. They come across as greedy [fill in the generalizations]. I, too, hope the woman cleans up. I'm sure it won't make a dent in their coffers.
32When I first heard about the suit against Jessica Seinfield I thought that it was really ridiculous- what mother hasn't attempted to disguise vegetables in other more readily accepted food? I started using Jessica's book first and then added the Lapine one to my collection. There are strange similarities that seem more than coincidence! How did Jerry make fun of Lapine on Letterman and Dublin why do you have distaste for the Seinfelds?
33"what mother hasn't attempted to disguise vegetables in other more readily accepted food?"
Me. *lol* They know what they're eating, I've never tried to fool them.
34Jessica seems like a nasty person in real life. Leaving her husband of a couple weeks to be with Jerry?
35Jerry was way out of line with his comments on Letterman. Can anyone say LAWSUIT?!!
