You're right phatE. Kate made a statement about it in like Allure or somewhere. She is Jewish on her mom's side and she said something about it being a tradition to wait until the child is older to cut their hair, as a coming of age thing. Kate felt that it was a beautiful idea...I bet she and Chris Robinson like long hair for their son anyhow. When the time comes they'll cut it.

As for what everyone else is saying, maybe she should style it differently?

phaty and peachy-actually...its no longer for religious reason. (his hair used to be much longer, but you can tell that they do keep it trimmed up now, or else it would be down past his butt) anyway, the religious thing only kept them from cutting his hair until he was two. After that Kate says that Ryder wanted to keep his hair long to be like his daddy.

I wish people would stop giving them crap about not cutting the kids hair. Not every little kid has to have a perfect neat little buzz cut. It really bothers me that people can be so close minded, and think that just because their little Johny goes and gets his generic buzz cut done every 2 weeks on the dot, that everyone else should do the same thing. They didnt cut his hair until he was two for religious reasons. Kate has said that after that Ryder decided he wanted to keep his long hair to be like his daddy. And I think its adorable!
