Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Brad Garrett announced the 58th annual Primetime Emmy award nominations this morning and the big talk is all about how the Desperate Housewives and Lost were left out of the best series nominations. In fact, the only housewife to get a nom was Alfre Woodard. As for those who were Academy favorites this year, 24 got 12 noms, Grey's Anatomy got 11 and Will & Grace received 10. Also kudos to Lisa Kudrow for being nominated for The Comeback. Maybe now HBO will realize that was a show they should have held on to.

The Awards are scheduled to air Aug. 27 on NBC, with Conan O'Brien as host of the Shrine Auditorium ceremony. To see all of the nominees, read more

I just blogged this.
1im so happy about greys anatomys nominations!! im such a big fan. ive seen every episode.....now i sound like such a crazed bint!
2Gregory Itzin and Jean Smart MUST take the Emmy's for their categories!
3Sandra Oh Should Win
4Fellow Working Celebrities Are The One's Who Vote. So Desperate Housewives Are Not Liked By OTHER CELEBS!!!! UH OH!
5Everyone on W&G except Will?!?
6It totally makes sense to me why the DH women didn't get nominated for the most part. Althought I thought that Felicity Huffman did great and deserved it, the others were lacking this year - imho.
Alfre Woodard for supporting - would love to know which episode got her that nomination! She's good just not in this role.
7What no LOST??????
grrrr. Curses you emmys!!
But I am happy for Grey's.
8im happy for 24 and grey's anatomy. two great shows that need recognization! lauren graham got snubbed again. she is underrated!
9Where is McDreamy's nomimation?
Totally jazzed about Sandra Oh's nomination, I love her!
10i'm happy that dr. bailey got nominated, and will arnett, but i can't believe lauren graham (gilmore girls) kristen bell (veronica mars) and any of the other actors besides Will from arrested development weren't nominated yet, the guy from king of queens and two and a half men gets noms...the ppl that vote are absolutely crazy
11Hey silvahalo, I know how you feel. However, LOST kinda, well "lost" people last season. I think they need to get the show moving along. We need answers to the island's mysteries and everything else.
12HA, take that Longwhoria...Desperate Housewives is SO done. The show now belongs on daytime TV.
13I've never seen one episode~the commercials just looked stupid to me.
14I'm not surprised about Lost and DH - I am fans of both shows but neither were as good as their first seasons. None of the actors really stand out because of the poor storylines.
I am THRILLED for 24, Scrubs, SVU, and GA! But I'm sad about GG and VM. GG - I kind of had a feeling Lauren might not get one - her character was (due to poor storylines) not as Lorelai-y as usual. But Kristen Bell -- are they smoking crack over there to not nominate her??? Seriously? (GA reference
)
15I so would love to see Chris Meloni get an Emmy for his role on SVU!
16I agree that DH went downhill in its last season...and Lost got too freacking slow!
17I hope next year Wentworth Miller at least gets a nomination. He's great on Prison Break... and I'm not just saying that because he's my TV Boyfriend. Same with Kristen Bell. Week after week she gave amazing performances on VM.
18Goddamn. Where's my Lauren Graham? I am glad about LK, and the lack of Housewives though.
19OMG Rebecca! That's JUST what I was gonna say! Gilmore Girls is an incredible show and deserves some freakin' credit! Who gives a sh*t that it's on WB? UGH! Their dialog is sooo complicated and fast! The quick wit and incredible acting is just completely dissed every year and I'm sick of it! GOOOOOOO GILMORE GIRLS!!!!!!!!
20Ah, KimmiAnn, another GG fan!(There aren't that many of us, so we have to stick together!) I looove the show and Lauren Graham, but I'm so angry about season 6. It was just very ... unsatisfying. But anyway, Lauren's Emmy nomination is waaay past due. I'm so mad that The King of Queens and Two and a Half men get nominations, but none for Lauren or Gilmore Girls. Gah. Injustice.
21I'm a Gilmore Girls fan too!Amazing show-I can't say the same about desperate housewives!
22I'm also a Gillian Anderson fan and I'm so excited that she got nominated for the Bleak House, she's an amazing actress and her performance in the series is outstanding!
Hey, I love GG too! I heard a lot that Lauren Graham was expected to get a nomination, so I'm really surprised she didin't. The 6th season wasn't the greatest, but she still brought her A-Game. Especially in that scene where Paul Anka was sick, and sleeping on Rory's bed... Lorelai was crying and saying she's a horrible mother... so heart breaking! Same with the scene at Lane's wedding party when she got up on stage and gave the most uncomfortable speech ever. I wish Luke wasn't such an ass... but I still don't forgive her for sleeping with Christopher lol.
23I am SOOOOO excited for 24, Kiefer and everybody who is involved with the show. Kiefer keeps getting nominated but never wins. Of course this year he is up against Peter Krause from Six Feet Under. He was just as equally awesome in that show even if it is totally different. Can't wait to watch!
24I only watch: DH THE OFFICE AND sniff sniff ARRESTED D... Hope the office or AD wins!! BEST SHOWS EVER! too bad AD got the boot
It was a funny show now I got the OFFICE! Too funny I must say I got a desk like PAM and a "friend"
just like JIM! I want AD back someone please pick it up and bring it back I want my TOBIAS!!
25I think DH is probably the most overrated show on air. I like Felicity Huffman in general, but, I am glad none of those twits were nominated. I would love for Chris Meloni to win as well. Ohhh...the Office and Scrubs were both nominated!!! And Steve CArrell! And I have loved Jean Smart since she was on Designing Women! What a great group of nominees. Six Feet Under was a really good show and I would love someone to win from that cast.
26i agree with everyone else -- DH totally lost whatever interesting mystery storyline it had and became just a bad soap opera with unlikeable characters... Lost became, and remains, utterly lost. i think they were more surprised than anyone when the show took off and they hadn't actually written scripts beyond the first 5 episodes... now i could care less what the island mystery is. it's probably one of those lame stephen king giant spider things...
27heavenly...is your friend as hot as Jim?
28Love hat my Bravo Shows - Project Runway and Kathy Griffin My life on the D list were nominated. These shows are the best. I seriously laugh my butt off at the Kathy Griffin antics - she is so D list (AKA Hollywood White trash) and so makes complete fun of herself about it! If she wins and emmy - she might actually get an upgrade to C or B list!
Alos miss Arrested Development - but gla dto see they got a nod - take that FOX! And I am also a HUGE Office and Grey's Anatomy fan.
29Jamie Prestley should win the comedy spot - Hands down. She so plays that role to a T!
30JennaV...I am glad the desperate dimwits did not get nominated too because the whole prestigous event gets ruined with which one is going to win..WHO CARES???? that show has not been good since season 1 episode 4.
31And as for Lost...yes I am hooked but I am also bored...Hurly was interviewed yesterday on a radio station yesterday in London and he said that he signed up for 7...YES 7 Season....WTF...I will be dammed if I am going to waste 5 more years of my life wondering if they are going to be saved or what those damm numbers mean and why....god I just don't care about this either.
32he'd sign up for 70 seasons...! that guy isn't going to work on TV again after lost...

I love Gilmore Girls too, even though they take it on and off the air here so I don't get to see it all that much.
35I love Lost, so I am disappointed it didn't get nominated, but happy Grey's Anatomy did. And the friends fan in me is happy for Lisa.
Desperate Housewives not nominated! Oh no. Boohoo! Such a shame, let's boycott this rather discriminating awards show. I agree with a lot of the nominations. Good stuff!
36Well guess I won't be watching this year. Lost should have been nominated even more so than GA in my opinion. Am I the only one who notices that GA barely even has any dialogue? There are plenty of scenes that are like 3 sentences long and the format of the show is a patient always dies. I also hate stupid love triangles I could care less if she ends up w/ Dr. dreamy or steamy. DH is a JOKE. I have no clue why people love it so much. Terry Hatcher is annoying as hell ( in real life). UGH they are ALL annoying on DH.
37They are playing the best music on NY radion tonight, "Sweet Caroline" .... "GOOD TIMES NEVER SEEM SO GOOOOOOOOOOD" ... Hehehehehehe ....
Oh yes, Julia Dreyfus outta hang it up! She was good on Seinfeld, she SUCKS now ... YIK ! Kick to the curb like yesterday's trash babe !
38Yay for Six Feet Under... I miss that show! Peter Krause (Nate on the show) is a cutie... everyone is (and should be) over the Desperate Housewives these days
39I love everybody on Weeds, Elizabeth Perkins is outstanding, though I think Megan Mullaly will win it.
40I like two and a half men it's really funny. Arrested development is the greatest imo. Scrubs really deserves some recognition and I feel what hotstuff is saying about Grey's vs. lost but GA is just so very. Sandra Oh has been the sh*t since Arliss and Chandra Wilson is amazing so that's a tough one. I saw Chandra Wilson in an interview and she was so cool. She had me cracking up. That's all I remember or care about I guess lol
