I do find the 'robotic' style comments on every Katie Holmes discussion really rude and unpleasant. She seems clever, sweet, and a lot more normal than most actresses - she has a lovely low voice. Would it be less 'robotic' if she screeched maniacally? I genuinely don't know what this comes from apart from the hysterical overreaction to Tom's (odd, but not that much odder than most) religion. The same overreactors told us that Katie would never be able to make another movie because she was Mrs Tom Cruise, that she'd be professionally known as Kate now because Tom was so controlling, etc. So there has to be something in Katie's demeanour that bears that out, there must be. But there isn't. She's just adorable, dignified, and ridiculously pretty.

Sorry, but this is a gossip site and Katie does often seem robotic to me, so I am going to say it. She used to be adorable, now though I just can't really see it.
Posh does sometimes look robotic, too, but she seems very lively (and actually often pretty adorable) in interviews (imo at least).

Did any of the interviews ask what happened to the other kids? Why don't they go out for dinner with ma and pa?

JVB, gotta correct you there , the contract's more like for 9.9years - you know how Tom rolls, when it comes to his moola it's hands off, so he'll ditch her just in time for the law not to come into effect.

I contend that Holmes never has said anything interesting or been a great interview. For all who claim she is suddenly "robotic", controlled, or scripted, try to find an interview prior to Cruise where she said anything of substance or interest, and did not seem just as friggin' dull as now.

In reality, because no one knew her before, or even now? Those who judge, do so to a woman based on how she was as a teen, and also by the image she presents now or presented then. Neither of which may be the "real" Katie Holmes. Also, I find nothing wrong with her seeming guarded, it is understandable considering there is a constant stream of negativity aimed at her, her marriage, and previously, her kid. The kid to such an extent that they felt compelled to allow a photo spread of the baby so the speculation could end, which it has not.

Very disturbing. I can't imagine how she exists under this kind of scrutiny. If she's open and animated, she's gushing? If she is a little reserved, she's robotic? Seems she can't win.

That mod dress is not flattering, makes her look like a pole, no shape. The coat was perfect, though.

I agree with Mädchen. It was nice to see more expression in Katie's face and voice, but some of her responses were still her same "automatic" answers. While watching the interview I repeatedly asked myself why she kept redirecting questions to David, and wondered if she was doing this to provide less information while still seeming friendly.

And WHAT ABOUT TOM'S 2 OTHER KIDS (as gigill pointed out)? It doesn't seem like Isabella and Connor join TomKat and Suri for any events or outings, not even dinner or shopping. Aside from their occasional mention in articles I'd almost think that the family only consisted of three. Does anyone know if Nichole has 50/50 custody of Isabella and Connor?

I'm starting to really hate how separate Isabella and Connor are depicted from the rest of both Tom's and Nichole's families.

I think Letterman himself is to blame for conducting such a lame interview. Should Katie be held accountable for not filling the empty spaces in the conversation with stupid laughter, like so many other actresses on his show are doing? I agree that the way she throws questions back at him is a bit weird, but then again, he really seems to be totally unprepared/uninspired/boooring...
I like her voice and her way of speaking. I also hugely admire her for actually completing a marathon, it takes a lot of guts and hard will, I am surprised that she has not received more credit for such a achievement!

Its obvious that the questions are scripted. Letterman asked the exact same questions that Regis & Kelly asked, and she gave the same canned, robotic replies, along with throwing the odd question back at him "How is your child, How were your holidays?" On the surface it appears polite, but it's a way to shift the focus off her. SHE's there to be interviewed, not him.

Lorelei- I think its more like she has access to toms money now, so she can go buy 16 new outfits in one day...Id start dressing better too if I had access to Toms money.

I am so sick of hearing about Katie! Dare I say I am more tired of her then Britney Spears?!?!?! Her answers are ALWAYS THE SAME! She is great, Suri is wonderful, Tom and her marriage are amazing. Blah blah blah. The only thing remotely interesting about her is her red coat!

Oh and Bella and Conner live with Tom and are raised as Scientologists. He has custody. But I wonder, because Scientologists believe that teenagers should be raised by another Scietology family, so I wonder if they are staying with third party family.
