On Monday we got the video that featured Tom Cruise getting very passionate about Scientology. He received the Freedom Medal of Valor Award at the International Association of Scientologists and now we have more videos from that event for your viewing enjoyment. Watch the first video where Tom makes his acceptance speech for his Freedom Medal and salutes LRH, and after the jump he explains how he helped fireman and New York City with the aftermath of 9/11, claiming that he helped the detoxification process when the EPA could not. Do you still think he's going too far or is he just really enthusiastic about his beliefs?
To watch Tom talk passionately about 9/11 and helping the firemen, psychiatry and more so just read more.

*sshole needs to be in psych ward
2Well, you know, nutty as it seems, and however hysterically over-excitedly it's narrated, Tom did a heck of a lot in that second video. Good for you, Tom.
3he gives me the heebie geebies and not in a good way
4Second video's no longer available...but sheesh, the first one is just nuts!
5tom calling EPA a liar..yea and i guess hes not
6you know, i keep trying to give the nutsos another chance: britney, winehouse, cruise....but at some point you just have to throw your hands up and accept that they are truly, certifiably, completely wacko.
7ONTD has all the video and cruise is bat sh*t crazy, its not even funny anymore
8AHHHHHHHH!!!!!
9Any religion that requires saluting is OK by me!
10(not)
"Clean this place up" -What exactly are they going to do? And what is it Mr Cruise does that makes people "count on him"
I'd like to know that! I need to "investigate" in this religion, cause I want to know what
the heck he's talking about!
Hope he isn't bringing Bella, Connor and Suri into all of this
11Going too far?? He's gone, way gone, unbelievable. He and that whole "religion" is beyond cult status. We need to ship the whole lot of them to some distant planet far, far away, where no man has gone before
12Why are the saluting each other? Is there some kind of military aspect to Scientology? That really freaks me out.
13Oh.. run whoever leaked more video run as if your life depends on it.. cause it does! HOLY XENU..
And what is with the salutes?
And did he say he had met LRH? The man was a lunatic by the time he died, living in a trailer and had a prescribed pharmaceutical drug in his system.. hmmm. Did he really "know" him well or just later like in a an alternate reality he created?? I do not get it.
And what is a HAFACK or half ack or half ak.. no terminology out there for that little Scientology slang..
Hmm.. I am so happy he was able to cure the firefighters with vitamins, auditing, exercise and saunas. Who knew it was so easy.
14I used to really like Tom, but now I'm just very very confused and to be honest frightened by him
That's sad
15what a FREAK! Has his head so far up his...someone needs to tell him to stop playing Top Gun in his head all day!
16"Why are the saluting each other? Is there some kind of military aspect to Scientology? That really freaks me out."
i think he is copying the pages out of hitlers book..maybe not killing but hell of sure manipulating.
17Now We are getting to know why Nichole Kidman left him she did not want to be apart of his religion crap and by his religious standards a non Scientologist cant be married to a scientologist
18Tom Cruise is becomming a dam Nut Job well i never liked his movies or him so who cares
Tom does a lot.. but it is not "just" to help people.. it is for an agenda of bringing people into Scientology. Which then is another $30,000 to $80,000 dollars of revenue for the "church". Scary sh*t.. I am all for religion helping people and saying hey here is pamphlet on what we believe in.. come join us on Sunday and hear about Jesus or whatever..
But what the hell is with.. here come and joins us and pay us $2000 per course for like 70 courses and THAT is the ONLY WAY you can find out what we are really about.
And have you heard the stories of people who fled the church? As in secretly pack a bag and run for their lives.. broke and leaving behind family and friends and bank accounts that Scientology keeps tabs on.. just taking the clothes on their backs and running.
If those stories are true.. then WOW.. I do not even want to think about it. If this group is quietly creeping into entertainment, government, legal groups, education.. then where will or does their influence end?
running away now to lock doors and hug my children...
19I used to really like Tom Cruise and I even dismissed the fact that the antics during his courtship of Katie Holmes, but after seeing these videos, I am a bit frightened of him and his religion. I consider myself a spiritual person and I am open to different religions, believing that they are all simply facets of the same truth, but the talk about "SPs" or "Suppressive Persons" is frightening.
20I don't want him getting his hands on Will Smith or David Beckham! I bet he wants to bring them into the fold of Scientology because they are popular celebrities
21Obnoxious use of the Mission Impossible theme. Postscript: the first video looks like a high school pep rally.
22Tom scares me.He is so weird.
23omg,tiny tom crazy
24He is clearly out of touch with reality and has a distorted view of his own importance but his thoughts on drugs are partially true, the use of underage drugs (to help kids who apparently are bipolar) in the US is insane!
25David Beckham will be absolutely fine. I really can't see Victoria letting him join a religion where they have to keep spending lots of money to read lots of books.
26Wow'e.
27What a f**king idiot. I honestly HATE him and his Scientology rhetoric. If anyone is actually making the image of a church worse it's this douchebag. Ow tell me Katie is really having a magical tie with him? What a tool!! When I I watched th vids all I could think was this reminds me of Nazi propaganda.
28Wow, Tom is nutty!
CRAZY TOM CRUISE & KOOKIE KATIE
29He and his CULT are a bunch of psycho's. And Imabeliever, they have already infaltrated the American and Italian government in different "missions" so they already have their hands in a lot of stuff. Their Lawyers are insane, that is how they get away with so much.
30wow, that's one hell of a cult
31He already has his hands on Will smith boo!!!!!
32like all religions, there are those who are passionate in the writings and scriptures, and the values they wish to impart... Tom Cruise is one of these people in regards to Scientology.
I dont know the "religion" intimately well, but what i do know of it, it strike me as a cult. But really, all religions are cults. There DOESNT have to be a right or wrong system. This is just like politics. Its like choosing a party to represent you.
There doesnt have to be a strict outline for defining who you are through religion. If you believe in certain things, then do those things! If you want to make a difference in society, then dont let anyone stop you
its your life and yours only. We naturally are drawn to
help and respect each other. You dont have to subscribe to a religion to do that. Religions are scripts to help you deal with life and your experience if you dont know how on your own. SO...
define yourself on your own terms.. figure our YOUR purpose, whatever it may be. I dont think Tom Cruise is necessarily crazy hahaha hes just a passsionate guy who may be just a LITTLE misguided in placing his trust a seemingly sketchy organization. I do believe his heart is in the right place and he genuinely wants to help others.
33I totally agree with "highclassjunkie."
All religions are cults to some degree. We should let people have their own religious beliefs so long as they do not effect us negatively (even if we think they're "crazy" beliefs). Just think that the people on the May Flower were fleeing Britain because people thought that their religious beliefs were "crazy." Many religions have "crazy" beliefs. Like I mentioned in another comment about Tom, Christians believe that God was born to a Virgin in the form of a human baby named Jesus. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with believing that, but it is kind of weird. If someone tried to claim that today, we'd think they were nuts.
It's not like Tom's a bad person. I think he has his heart in the right place. I think we only have the right to judge him by his acting skills, not by his religious beliefs.
34Only a weak person allows themselves to be manipulated to this extent. Tom used to be a charming guy, but he had some insecurities about his past and got sucked into this "religion". Such a pity... and I don't get why Katie in her right mind got involved with this scary stuff. Maybe because it was TOm Cruise and she was in awe of him she could not really see that he is nuts.
35There is a crazed look in his eyes when he talks about Scientology and anyone who is that paasionate about religion is a nut!!!! Love it but don't shove it down everyone's throats like it's the only way. I'm a passionate Catholic but I'm not one to try convert the masses.
36There is a crazed look in his eyes when he talks about Scientology and anyone who is that paasionate about religion is a nut!!!! Love it but don't shove it down everyone's throats like it's the only way. I'm a passionate Catholic but I'm not one to try convert the masses.
37Sorry ladies but if you are out there talking abou tyour religion all the damn tie then you better blieve people are gonna judge youbased on that especially when it's viewed as one of the world's biggest cults period.
38Fine, so judge him for his religious beliefs. Yes, he is pretty passionate about them. But I don't care. It's not like he's blowing up buildings because of his passion, so I don't think I can criticize him for it.
Please don't tell me his beliefs are that much weirder than some Christian beliefs. For God's sake, Christians believe that when we drink wine and eat bread at church during communion, that we are eating the body and blood of Christ! Look, I've done that maybe 100's of times so I'm not saying it's not okay to take communion.
I'm not going to judge Tom for his religious beliefs because I think that's wrong, but you are welcome to do so if you want.
39I'm not getting the sense that others are judging him for having passionate religious beliefs. I think it's the equation of: power + influence + fame + believing that only your beliefs/religion/cult can "save" and change the world that it scary. If he was just an average person or even a "D" list actor, it might not be as scary because at that level it's more talk than anything else.
And unfortunately, though it might be morally correct that we have no "right" to judge others, the awful truth is that we do judge...each and every one of us. This is inherent to the human condition and not likely to change.
40Vanprooyen, with all do respect, do your homework a little better before you make such a BOLD statement about one of the oldest religions out there! To say that his beliefs are not that much weirder than Christian beliefs is very arrogant and unfounded not to mention, judgemental. This really isn't the forum to make such debates so stick to your gossip talk. I really doubt that crazy Cruise needs us to defend him and his so called "religion".
41I think he is crazy as a loon. I'm glad scientology is making him so happy because his public behavior in regards to his intense need to push his beliefs on the world has hurt his career in my opinion. Has Katie Holmes ever come out and said whether she is or isn't a Scientologist and if she is raising Suri to be one? I know she was supposed to have had their special silent birth or what not, but I was just curious to see if she has ever taken an official stance on the topic, in writing.
42He is one SICK puppy!!!
43ugh..this is creepy, their worshipping this guy LRH and the video looked like a superman montage..we worhip you all mighty Tom!...Tom cruse is the new Jesus..with a little bit of american advertising sleazyness.
442008grl, vanprooyen has the right to express her opinions like everyone else. If you don't agree with her or find her statement to be untrue then respond with a correction or what ever is necessary. I am getting really tired of people telling others not to express their opinions on this site.
Vanprooyen. There is a HUGE difference between Christian beliefs and Scientology beliefs. Whether you believe that Jesus is the savior or not, he was a real person. Xenu, on the other hand was not. Comparing Scientology to any major religion is silly, because they are not the same. Maybe the fundamentalist in escence are, but not the foundation of the religion.
45Looney Tunes!
46why dont we just all help make the world a better place without joining a cult that idolizes Tom cruse and Jhon L.Hubbert?
47it's been highly reported that LRH joked before founding $cientology that he should establish a religion in order to make money. now, i wasn't around when God created the world, nor was I around when Jesus was born, but i don't think God said, 'hmmm. i need to create some people so i can get rich by scamming money off of them.'
that would be one of the differences between $cientology and Christianity/Judaism. also in that christians don't have to pay to be saved. nor are any spaceships involved.
48What offends me is how arrogant and judgmental he is. I could respect his passion for his beliefs if he did not pass such heavy judgment on all groups that believe and practice otherwise. I suspect that is why the lawyers keep trying to yank these videos.
On a related topic, since this scares so many of us: Did anyone else read last month's Vanity Fair article about the two artists who killed themselves in NY? They were a couple and lived in LA for a while, ultimately fleeing CA because they were convinced they were being harassed by Scientologists. These two were crazy and possibly paranoid, and I wrote them off at first, but now I am starting to wonder whether there might have been more to their story. The Scientology spokesperson of course denied any knowledge of the couple.
49WOW this video definitly opened my eyes to another way of life. Im not going to bash this whole religion (because i dont really get it)It really makes me want to research it and understand more. It does seem ritualistic with the salutes and everything but as a Catholic I can say we have rituals too (like the sign of the cross). I must say though what is with the bond music in the background lol. I would also like to know what he means by "cleaning this place up". As for prescription medication...I work in the mental health field and I can say that there are some people who really benefit from prescription drugs. I also believe that in the US we have abused, misused and prescribed drugs to those that may not be in need for the purpose of profit which is very wrong and immoral.
