so very sad. I have had numerous miscarriages. I know how it feels. As for her smoking...I doubt it. My mother smoked the entire pregnancy with me and I have numerous friends who also smoked while pregnant. It definitely depends on the particular person and how their body reacts, sure. But smoking wouldn't be the sole cause of a miscarriage. One of my friends tried quitting while pregnant and her doctor told her just to cut down as much as possible because the stress of quitting would do more harm than the cigarettes themselves. Strange, but I swear its true!

My thoughts are with Lily and Ed.

BTW, I am definitely NOT advocating smoking while pregnant!!!

This is why I think it is especially terrible when tabloids play the "baby bump" guessing game. Mother nature can be very cruel, even to the rich and famous.

I love Lily... That is tragic that she has to endure this, and so publicly.

I sometimes wonder why we don't see more celeb kids with sickness/disability because they are human too, after all, but I never HOPE to see such misfortunes. I really can say that my thoughts are with her.

I think they did announce very early, but that does not make it any less sad. I can't imagine going through that. So sad...

That's so sad. i believe this is part of the reason the celebrities do not say that they're pregnant until the really start showing becasue they want to make sure nothing tragic happens.

I feel badly for her. I hate that the body is so weird. But something told me that this wasn't meant to be for her this time.

That's what's so terrible about having your pregnancy news all over the media - you also have to tell everyone when something like this happens. I hope she pulls through this okay.

Oh, that's so sad. I hate that this ever happens. And this is why I really don't like the pressure people put on celebs to announce.

We don't see many celebs with real problems because if they let weakness show the media has a field day. We see someone like Britney Spears, who is obviously mentally ill, yet no one can stop talking about it. And when the guy from STP's wife stopped taking her meds and trashed a hotel room, people called her 'nuts' and psycho. I feel so bad for Lily. I'm sure she'll pull through, but it's tough!

I feel very sad for them, they were so young and happy about their child. I was so shocked to hear about it. I'm sure everyone is.
