Robert Downey Jr signed a deal with HarperEntertainment to write his memoir for us to read in 2008. Since his life is just as interesting as his movies I will definitely be checking this one out. Downey has been in prison, in and out of rehab and lived a life close to that of his Less Than Zero character while he was experimenting with various drugs. It's great to see he seems to have his life in order now. A Scanner Darkly is his latest movie which opens this weekend with another one of our favorites, Winona Ryder.

10I love this guy so much and I´m so happy that he leaved his drug-past. His music is not my type, but he showed once again what a good actor he can be in kiss kiss bang bang.

11Oh, I love Robert Downey Jr., but there are totally straight sober people who have a hard time remembering their past, with his past party passion, I'm wondering how much he does remember, and of that, how much of it was real, or a product of his doped up imagination.

14i will definitely be reading this book. i love robert downey jr! he is a great and talented actor who is super sexy (IMO) and im glad he got his life together. but i have to agree with cali4nagirl on how much do you think he can remember considering his brain is probably fried! im guessing it will be his memoir and then the smoking gun will come out and say he lied and this will be another james frey on oprah moment. hehe yikes. oprah tore mr. frey a new arsehole!

16Cali I agree, He looks really good in that picture, but I think he's always been a cutie. I know he's spoken highly of SJP in regards to their relationship. I don't think he blames her for not wanting to babysit him.
17" Memoirs of a Mega Superstar Junkie " ?? Haaa !!! He may be an actor and have the world in his palm, but in low moments of his life, there is no difference between him and the crack-head on the corner pimping for blow ... It's good he can make money off his addictions though ...
Did anyone see, "Less Than Zero" ??? GREAT MOVIE about a drug addict from a very wealthy background who can't kick his habits, which eventually lead to his death ... He was the lead star, I think he related pretty closely with the character, all except the character dies in the end and he's still alive ... Very Sad. Sarah Jessica Parker said that was the reason she left him when they dated, he couldn't stop and she couldn't sit and just watch him self destruct.
18And for anyone to see he is on the right track now. That is great, but the "Addiction" is a disease that is always there, it's one day at a time- He has been clean for years and fallen back into the cycle, so we'll see ... I believe he's only been clean a year or two now, right ?? And it's his 3rd or 4th time out of rehab ... I hope he stays on the right path, but it's not an easy life, I am sure ... I can't even imagine having an addictive personality, as I am very fiesty and strong and put up with little ... lol ... Maybe that's why I'm single right now !

24Drew Barrymore started on the drug and alcohol train when she was 11 and cleaned up long before he did ... lol ... He was a complete mess and I am sure he still has his deep-rooted mental lulls. He is a nut.

Are you a fan of Kurt Cobains? I read the Cobain book after he passed away, it was excellent ... That was like a memoir book .... His 3rd overdose on "China white" and the 3rd time he obviously died with his strung out wife, Courtney Love by his side- too out there to help him ... I read Kurt's idol was Jim Morrison from the Doors ...

30ImCurly, yeah I like Kurt... I've read a lot of books on him, don't really know what to believe about his death, but I find it more comforting to believe he committed suicide because that's what he wanted.
I have to admit it was his looks that first attracted me to him. I've always had a thing for sensitive slight blond guys. lol My hubby looks quite a bit like him actually.
Reading about Kurt helped me learn about myself as a person, I know that sounds weird.
