Click here to check out the full list of nominations. Atonement, Juno and Michael Clayton were also nominated for Best Picture. We're thrilled Ellen Page was nominated for Best Actress for her work in Juno and George Clooney for Best Actor in Michael Clayton. Yay for Ellen Page and Cate Blanchett!
1Best Actress in Elizabeth: The Golden Age-love cate but in this movie she was awful.
2i am glad casey was nominate.
Yay, I am finally going to see Juno tonight! I have had to keep putting it off, i can't wait to see it.
3YAY! no angelina!
i am psyched for hal holbrook, johnny depp, daniel day and VIGGO! and marion cotillard is a LOCK...
4Daniel Day-Lewis all the way!! I love him and he's amazing in everything! The score for The Assassination for Jesse James (By Nick Cave and Warren Ellis) should have been nominated. It's one of the best scores I've ever heard. I'm routing for anything for "There Will Be Blood" and "No Country for Old Men"--both great films this year!
5i thought i was going to die during atonement. like how many dramatic pauses can they fit into one movie? every time Kiera lit a cigarette it took 30 seconds out of my life.
6
7Kathy Bates look AmaZing here!
Eh to the noms, though. The Oscars just seem off with their choices, I think a fair amount of politics are involved in the process.
8iam so happy
9for"michael clayton" and its 7 Nominations i saw "no country for old mrn" and it was awsome!!!
johnny greenwood was totally snubbed! his score for there will be blood was amazing!
10BEST SUPORTING ACTOR:
Casey Affleck!!! YAY, I hope he wins, but i don't mind if Philip Seymour Hoffman wins instead. He's really good too, but he already got an oscar.
BEST ACTOR:
Viggo, Daniel or Johnny. Tough one but i must say that I'm woting for Johnny.
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS:
Cate or Tilda are great. Don't know the others tho.
BEST ACTRESS:
Cate, but i don't know the others. If they r good or not. But i know Cate is so i'm voting for her.
11Sad to not see Joaquin Phoenix or Leo Dicaprio on the list. Hope i'll get to see them on the red carpet anyway.
12I'm so hoping that third time's the charm for Johnny. Everyone is great this year ... it will be tough!
My husband is in love with Cate the Great, so he can drool over her while I keep my eye on Mr. Depp.
They WILL televise the Oscars, won't they? Someone please tell me they will! Writer's strike be damned!
13same ol same ol..congrats
14Honestly my guess is that they will cancel the Oscars at the last minute. Because Hollywood supports the writers and they won't go against the writers, becasue with no writers there would be no actors. GET IT TOGETHER PRODUCERS! SOLVE THE WRITERS STRIKE ISSUES!
15I can't believe Keira got snubbed! Honestly...
I'm happy for Ellen Page, though. I doubt she'll get the win, but it's great to see her nominated.
16Hurray for Ellen Page!
17I was SO excited when I heard she was nominated, her performance in Juno was fantastic.
Well well well after all the hype and bruhaha A
18Mighty Heart is nowhere to be seen and neither is American Gangster. I feel like this year's crop of nominees really sucks big time like BIG TIME!!!!
I saw There Will Be Blood this weekend, and I am still haunted by it. Very interesting movie. I suspect Johnny Greenwood was snubbed because his score is so untraditional. I thought it worked well with this movie, but purists say that it was too intrusive, and that you shouldn't notice a movie's score, it should blend in.
I think Julie Christie has a lock on Best Actress. She has won so many awards already that share a voting pool with the academy. Plus, they sent out screeners for that film...it might take more of an effort for people to see Marion's film.
I am very happy for Casey Affleck. I wish Ben would have gotten more recognition for his directing in GBG, but I guess when it is your first film the want to make you wait for it.
19I think they will work out a deal. Since the producers worked out a deal with DGA the other day, they can be held to the same expectations for WGA. I don't know why the Producers didn't suggest these terms in their recent dealings with WGA...must be a pride thing. The producers NEED the Oscars to make money on these films.
20i agree nyra..im suprised american ganster didnt get it..but juno did..how convienent.
21Hahah justin I'm just happy there is no sign of the magnificent one known as AJ. tHere was so much fuss about her elctric performance and she was on the Oscar Roundtable and Justjared was all up in her grill and her fans were so haunted by her perfrmance and then.......nothing. Must be embarrassing for all those publicists and media machines who over hype actors when they ddon't get nods but sucks for Denzel man.
22I think James McAvoy got robbed. He should have been part of the best actor nominee list.
I'm also shocked that Joe Wright wasn't nominated for directing Atonement. It was so beautifully done and I tend to believe that movies with Best Picture Noms should also get Best Director Noms.
Loved 'Juno' but don't think that any of the acting was Oscar-worthy. Ellen Page is cute though and has a bright future ahead of her.
23i know nayra..wow..so much for the diverse in hollywood
oh well there always next year.
24I saw all five and my favorites were Michael Clayton and Atonement. I read that the score for There Will Be Blood did not qualify because it was not completely written specifically for the movie. Some of it was previously written.
25YAAAAAAY 4 johnny depp !!!!!!
26yay for johnny and casey

These are who I think and would like. I'm really happy for Ellen Page she is one of my Fav actress but I'm not sure I want her to win for Juno. I think I would like to see her in a more serious role that challenges her this role was great and she did well but I would like to push her more.
Good Luck to everyone
29ANGELINA DID NOT GET NOMINATED. WHOO-HOO!
The weekly photo ops with the kids were all in vain.
30Kathy Bates looks awesome!
31Congrats to our hometown girl Diablo Cody! I hope hope hope this writers strike gets resolved so we actually get to see her accept her Oscar!! I'm so excited!!!
32No Country for Old Men--great movie. I'm surprised American Gangster didn't get a "nod"...it kinda had big awards movie written all over it.
33I'm happy to see Johnny and Viggo being nominated. And Greentea1203, I haven't seen "The Assassination of Jesse James", but being a hugh Nick Cave's fan myself, I bet the soundtrack is really great and I trust your judgement. Really, I've watched "The Propostion" and that is one fantastic soundtrack (from the very same Nick Cave and Warren Ellis).
34It's great to see Ellen Page nominated.
35My heart is broken. Why was Angelina snubbed??? This is sooo sad.
Congrats to Cate. I don't think she be nominated for Best Actress, but what are you gonna do??? Congrats to everyone expect Ellen Page. Don't like her at all.
36I'm so happy for Johnny, but why did Cate get nominated instead of Angelina?
37Makes me want to watch the Oscars....
