We all know what a fabulous dad David Beckham is, so it's no surprise that the children of West Africa warmed right up to the soccer star while he was in Sierra Leone as a UNICEF ambassador over the weekend. When he wasn't showing off his soccer skills and being sweet with the kids, Becks headed to health clinics to learn more about why the country has such a high mortality rate for young children. David also spoke about the urgency of the issue, saying:
We can't turn a blind eye to the tens of thousands of young children who die every day in the developing world mostly from causes that are preventable. Saving these children's lives is a top priority for UNICEF and as an Ambassador I hope I can help to draw attention to this issue across the world.
Beckham usually catches our attention no matter what he does, and hopefully seeing celebrities like him and Orlando Bloom representing UNICEF will inspire others around the world to lend a hand. Lots more of a hot Beckham so read more

15I love the Shaved head, and it looks like he washed out that bleach blond. Could he be any sexier?
16love the pics but he could have worn better shoes then boots. I am just saying.
17YUM!
18He looks amazing and he is doing something positive.
19David Beckham is hot, and I'm also impressed that he's getting into the humanitarian thing. But really, it would be much easier to take him seriously here if he weren't shirtless.
20Haaa haaa !!! I'm sure LA is happy to report they paid him ALOT of money to do absolutely nothing but be injured after signing and playing for 1 game ... HILARIOUS !
21He's sooo hott hahaha

24He is AMAZING! I am thoroughly impressed. I never thought I'd see him do this, never crossed my mind, but I commend him for making the visit and really hopes he continues his humanitarian work. Lastly, he is so SMOKIN' hot! Yum.

26He is so gorgeous and so sexy. He improves with age!! Back in 1997 when he and posh first got together he was very good looking but he is just gorgeous now.
27very sweet, and hot!!
28yeah he looks way better now that he shaved his head
29aw, that was nice of him to go. that must be a hard thing to leave.
30Glad he does something meaningful with his celebrity. Melts my heart to see this pics.
31Those pics of David brought tears to my eyes. He was soo natural and into these people, though I'm not sure if the bare chest was necessary!
It amazes me how David Beckham looks soo diferent today than back in 1997. He really wasn't good-looking. I wondered if he hasn't had any plastic surgery on his face, we can't always doubt women , what about men too?. I know Becks personal style evolved, but his face just isn't the same. Maybe now he glows with confidence, bcoz wehn he met Vicky he looked like a sissy.

33Really nice story. Glad to see he's trying to help out!
34Definitely not a fan, but this is a start. Finally he's doing something meaningful, impressive.
35it actually looks like some ad.
36Good for him.
Kind of funny he decided to do it shirtless though, lol!
37is there any situation known to man in which david beckham doesn't manage to take his clothes off? all i can say is THANK YOU!
38Whoo he's sexy.
39Wow, I would have been in heaven with him walking around me with no shirt on. I would have been STARING the whole time.
40Its a great thing he is doing its terrible how some of these kids die from curable things that we don’t think twice about in the States things like diarrhea or from being bitten by a bug and the lack of bed nets to protect them. I’m glad he is putting his star power behind these issues!
41good for him! and good for those children too!
42for those of you who thinks that this is the first time Becks has done any charity, well obviously you're really, really new to his story, or maybe you're just a new fan! and as Becks topless in those pics..that's because those pics were taken after he has given his shirt to one of the local kids who played football with him on the day at the end of the game, as a tradition of the game itself. don't you know? besides, the weather there is hot and most of the kids playing with him were not wearing any shirts too! so why should he??
"or those of you who thinks that this is the first time Becks has done any charity, well obviously you're really, really new to his story, or maybe you're just a new fan!"
You’re right about just one thing: I hardly read about his work as an UNICEF ambassador, because the press usually focus whatever is useless wife’s doing instead. Why isn’t she with him by the way? Is Africa too poor for her?! Is Africa not chic enough?!
43You’re wrong about everything else. African issues are not about charity [donating is easy for those who have money (and it not will solve many of their problems)], the hardest part is being there on the field and support the cause), are about justice (as Bono well says many times – LOL U2 fans who have been to their concerts know what I’m saying).
I’m not a fan of Beckham at all. He’s just a good looking millionaire football player with and I despise his wife’s life style. I’m pretty sure he donates money, because people like him usually do. That doesn’t impress me. What impresses me is that he actually was there, as I said before.
I apologize for my bad typing (I’m lying in my bed writing in my laptop
44P.S.: In Europe we call it football, not soccer. I'm not American.
