While the afternoon took a noticeably somber turn as the news of Heath Ledger's tragic death spread over snowy Park City, the morning was for celebrating as Oscar nomination news came to Sundance. While a lot of the celebrities left with the end of MLK day weekend, there was still swag to be scored for some of them. I was lucky enough to stop by the Pure & Natural Celebrity Eco-Retreat and Iconix "Gift Giving For A Cause" Suite benefiting Save the Children to see all the goodies the celebrities have been snatching up as souvenirs. I also ducked into the Wireimage portrait studio thanks to our friends over there and while I didn't get any big celebrity sightings, I was right on the trail of so many of them who have stopped through to pose.
Mischa and Audrina were definitely enjoying the goodies while Diddy was more about pimping his vodka than taking home free stuff. Luke Wilson was looking scruffy, but hopefully his movie luck has turned since BuzzSugar had only good things to say about his movie at the festival, Henry Poole is Here. I'm headed home to slightly warmer SF tonight, but there's a lot more Sundance to come!

I thought this was meant to be an Indie film festival.. All their doing is standing around having their photo's taken with free stuff with giant branding behind them... boring boring boring!
1Sundance has gotten very commercial. I wonder if Robert Redford is very disappointed.
2Oh well, we still have Tribeca back east.

Robert Redford is extremely disappointed by what has become of Sundance. Audrina Partridge? What the hell is SHE doing there? And Diddy? It's an indie festival. for crying out loud. I had the great privilege for a few years of getting to cover the music of Sundance as well as playing at a few venues during the film festival, and it's gotten so depressingly commercial. Oh well. Nothing gold can stay, as Robert Frost said.
4I don't know all the logistics about who iwns what, but I'm sure Mr Redford is wishing he could just bar all these faux-celebs from attending. Do they even go and watch the movies or are they all there strictly for the swag?
There are still great movies coming out of Sundance , but in a couple of years it might not be as indie anymore, but i guess that's life and someone else will open up another festival maybe in ... Cleveland.

6Audrina Patridge is there because WHY?
7Ew there's that Audrina Fartridge girl, stealing all those gifts and looking cross eyed-ly above the camera as usual.
Boo.
8WHY is Audrina there? That really pisses me off....
9Oh i love John Legend!
10Mischa looks like a female version of Pete Doherty in that first picture.
11I was also wondering why Audrina was there.
12Honestly, what is Audrina doing there? The swag I guess.
13Ilu Audrina
14Audrina?!
