13Well there are tons of albums of covers, but it's usually either after an artist is particularly successful, a tribute with tons of different artists performing, or some sort of awareness type thing where money goes to some cause. To have this as your debut album is a bit lame. Tom Waits, however, is not lame at all.
I'm not going to just dismiss her because she's an actress, though. That in itself doesn't mean she sucks. Tons of singers dabble in acting and vice versa, and don't totally suck. I'm not holding my breath, though.
