I totally spaced about him being Matilda's godfather. I hope he's able to have his space and grieve without the paps...I also wish people would stop misquoting or skewing quotes other celebrities have made. The whole Jack Nicholson thing was totally blown out of proportion considering he "warned em'" about AMBIEN....

I'm glad to see the first pics of Jake since Heath's dead are not of him frantically trying to avoid the pappo. Maybe they're actually going to give him some "space"...

While I don't agree with the statement of Reese being "too good for him", I do think they're an odd pair (idk why).

I gald to see that paps backed off a little in his (& Heath's family) time of sadness.

When you're young and healthy and agree to be someone's godparent, it usually never occurs to you how big that role could become. But Jake seems like a good guy, and very family oriented, so Matilda can probably count on him.

What a shocker for Michelle though, to suddenly face the rest of her life as a single parent.

I'm so glad to see this post. Jake was one of the first people I thought about after Heath's saddening death (after thinking of Matilda, Michelle, and his additional family) and I can only imagine his immense hurt and grief right now. Love and support sent your way, Jake! xoxo

Awwww.... Jake deserves some happiness. I am glad he and Reese get along so well. Ryan Phillipe is worse then KFED in my opinion... don't ask me why, he just frosts my cookies the wrong way!

Poor Jake. It really seemed like Jake and Heath had a fun time together when they were promoting Brokeback. They were always laughing together...I thought it was adorable when they presented together at the Oscars. I wish Jake all the best, especially peace from paparazzi.

So many are wishing Heath & those left behind in his life rest and peace from the paps - yet look how many continue to flock to these posts of those left behind. Posts that include photos that I can assume were taken from Paps?

I am also saddened by his death, and I have ignored Pop's posts on his death until now. I just had to comment, because it's just ridiculous. This isn't someone's jail sentence, or someone's new gig, new man or anything else. Someone died here. How about lead by example, Pop, and not continue to post invasive photos such as this?

i think that jake will be a great influence on matilda - and i hope that michelle allows him to be around her little girl for that reason. such a shame to lose a friend like that - and i hope he's ok too. at least reese is a great comfort

I don't think that Jake has seen either Heath or Matilda in ages. Otherwise we would have known about it. Jake hasn't been in New York City hardly at all since he hooked up with Reese. All of his personal time has been totally into Reese and her kids. I don't think he was and/or is a good Godfather. And nor will he be in the near future as long as Reese and her kids are in the picture. I cannot believe that he is so into her that thats all that matters to him. Amazing how someone can possibly have that much control in a relationship! I hope that Jake carries alot of guilt with him now and realizes what times he should have been spending with Heath and Matilda before it was over.

I don't think anyone can presume to know what kind of contact Jake had with Heath & Matilda,being controlled by Reese, or hoping he feels guilty about not spending enough time with them! That is his personal life, and as both Jake & Heath aren't attention wh*res, they're not going to call the tabloids every time they talk or hang out.

Scotland - I think the big dog (Atticus) is Jake's. Jake and Kirsten got him together. I always forget that those two were a couple!

Since only family and close friends attended, I don't think Reese was invited. As for Jake, I don't know if he attended.

I think Jake should find a single woman, if possible not a celebrity and have his own kids.
