it is not up to her family anymore. she is a grown woman with tons of money ( that allows her to be independent)that is simply out of control.

The only thing that may scare her is hitting rock bottom, and I think she is almost there,. but not quite.

I think she is surrounding herself with a bunch of enablers that see nothing wrong with her behavior, so she has reinforcement that she is not crazy by these people.

yes the split with Justin was the catalyst as Britney is so sensitive she never could get over it and now she develop kind of borderline syndrome and needs help after all speculations i never sypathized with Britney but right now it really interests me how such a successful person can destroy herself

I predict that she will suddenly "Find the Lord", and exploit and manipulate people in a new way once she gets tired of this round of attention seeking antics. She isn't above using mental illness or PPD, or ADD to get attention for herself. I see her exploiting the Bible belt next.

Like most other members, I also really hope she can. Although I think that Britney probably does need some professional help, there is nothing like surrounding oneself with family and friends. Hopefully, this is the first step towards her rebuilding her life. But, sadly, I kind of doubt it...

Machka i totally agree I think this is what keep us hooked watching someon who was on top of the world come crashing down. i felt sorry for her at first but now I'm like she really needs to grow up, she's a mom, it's a time she acted like one.

machka a lot of child celebs who grew uppuppets of the industry are grounded and stable, so that excuse won't fl for britney. She needs like a hard core SWAT team takes her to boot camp type of intervention or to go off and work with AIDS orphans for a while and see ho unimportant she really is.

right now, it's so convoluted, there's no way to tell (at least for me) who's the craziest out of all of them. but i do feel bad for britney. she's acting like she has borderline mental issues. i've had friends who suffered from depression and it's not fun. she could be severely depressed and acting out. i just feel really bad for her.

Everyone needs a mom or some family around, even if it is Lynne Spears.

She obviously has some type of mental illness..first & foremost she needs to seek treatment and STAY in treatment. Everything will fall into place after that.

did you see how she acted when the PAPS asked her about Heath L. She kept her charade up as the British speaking girl and said he was really still here that no one ever really dies....how uncaring of her to say that while she was still playing in that British accent and tell that he's still here to his little girl....BRITNEY is such a B*TCH!

She's been showing a bit of improvement. Before all the Brit haters jump down my throat, UNDERSTAND THAT I AM NOT DEFENDING HER OR EXCUSING OR APPLAUDING HER BEHAVIOR.

Not that that's out of the way, let me explain. She's been dressing more appropriately - none of those shirts as dresses. She's been wearing makeup again. She's also been working on a routine and working out in general - you can see that from the muscles in the girls arms, shoulders and legs. She's clearly taken more of an interest in her appearance. For someone who is mentall ill, taking an interest in their appearance is a step, small but a definite step. She's letting her family back in her life. She was also spotted out with her mom today in addition to last night. It wasn't broadcast all over at the time but Britney did choreograph a lot of the dancing in Piece of Me. She's also spent a lot of time recently working on a routine for her next video and she's also been speaking about her career and possible future steps. This means she's taken an interest in her career again.

Also, she's seen a psychiatrist - don't know how often but she has been to one. That is yet another small step. She's got a lond road ahead of her but look at how much she's done already. We've seen her work ethic and determination in the past and I think she can get that back again.

These things are all little steps but they are steps in the right direction. This gives me a bit of hope that she will get her sh*t together for her sons' sake and her family's. She NEEDS to get rid of both of those guys though. This tug of war on her is not healthy and will only keep her down. She needs to continue with the psychiatric visits and she needs to keep her mom and dad around.

If she doesn't get help soon, she's gonna end up dead.

I really don't know. I'd like to hope it would, but she's proven in the past she does not like having people around who don't encourage her in whatever it is she's currently doing.

I honestly think what she needs is to get away from LA and all the hangers-on she's acquired. Maybe move somewhere (as quietly as possible) and get some help. None of this going out at all hours, calling the paparazzi, befriending them, whatever. Just stay low and focus on getting better from whatever it is that's causing all this.

Will that happen? I truly don't think it will, but for her children's sake I wish it would. They're the only ones I feel for in this situation.

I believe that she does love her kids...but she's just too immature herself to properly raise them or take the responsibility to get her a$$ to the courthouse on time. Having to get there on time is to her like someone commanding her to do something, and she hates that.

Hopefully her family can swoop in now and take control of things and get her help....fingers crossed!!
