John Mayer stopped to greet a fan as he strolled along the streets of NYC on Saturday. He wasn't able to be in LA for last night's American Music Awards, as he had a few shows in the Big Apple over the last week and is due to take his Battle Studies promotional tour to Canada tomorrow. John has been doing a fair share of press for his new album and spoke recently with The New York Times about his record as well as his ladies' man status. Here's more:

- On dating: "I should be having sex with more girls. It’s crazy to me that in my head, that being 32 and dating women is going to get me in trouble. I can’t even explain to you how terrible that feels, that I equate dating a woman with punishment, shame, guilt, disappointment, reproach, reprimand, persecution. It’s a nightmare."
- On taking musical risks: "There’s nothing I’ve done musically that’s been a wild misstep. Basically, you’re saying, can you risk failure? And that’s something that I’m struggling with right now, because in my life, I would like to do something in music that risks a misstep."
- On letting personal relationships take over his music: "What is the odd man out — is it the record or the coverage? I’m not going to let it be the record. I think if you’re listening to Battle Studies and you think it’s a record about high-profile relationships, I haven’t done a good enough job."

Natalie Portman in brilliant blue stole the spotlight last night at a screening of Brothers in NYC. One of her two leading men, Tobey Maguire, joined her on the red carpet along with his wife Jennifer Meyer, though Jake Gyllenhaal missed the event. Amanda Peet was right by her husband David Benioff's side, supporting his latest screenwriting effort. Natalie was caught up in New Moon mania last week, but yesterday was all about her own upcoming project — check out the moving trailer before its release on December 4.

Last night's American Music Awards brought out the big stars of the recording industry, but there were some notable actors and actresses in the crowd as well. Nicole was on Keith's arm and when he took the stage he said he does it all for her and Sunday. Plus, New Moon's Alex Meraz basks in their amazing opening weekend. Lots more from the big show coming up, but check out our exclusive red carpet video — watch the PopSugar Rush update now!

David Beckham took off last week for Seattle, where he joined his Galaxy teammates Friday for a press conference and a practice on Saturday. Back in LA, his family went about their weekend as normal — the boys went out for another ice cream run Friday, though this time around it was Victoria keeping an eye on Brooklyn, Cruz and Romeo. Victoria had only just returned to California after her travels to London last week, but she and her sons were off to Washington themselves in order to see David and his team take on Real Salt Lake in yesterday's MLS finals. David took the field in a special pair of cleats featuring the names of his three boys, but ultimately the Galaxy didn't end up taking home a win.

Gisele Bundchen brought her stepson Jack out for an afternoon at a Boston park on Saturday. The duo enjoyed a picturesque Fall day together, as Jack explored the swings and jungle gym under Gisele's watchful eye. It looked like a warm day for November, but Gisele still kept her growing baby bump under wraps with her big sweater. She's stylishly entering the last few months of her first pregnancy, and Jack can look forward to showing his little brother or sister the ropes at the playground this time next year.
