Alanis Morissette hung out on the beach in Hawaii with her son, Ever, on Saturday. She sported a striped bikini top and black bottoms with "Self Love" jeweled on the back, which showed off her many tattoos. Alanis's husband Mario Treadway joined the duo on the beach yesterday, when he and Alanis got away for PDA in the water. Alanis took the tropical trip with her family to mark Mario's birthday, which was on Friday. They'll soon have another reason to celebrate since their third wedding anniversary is coming up on May 22. Alanis's time off comes after she partnered with Kiehl's last month to design a limited-edition label for the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream with the proceeds benefiting Recycle Across America. Zachary Quinto was also involved in the project, and the duo got together to attend an Earth Day event in honor of the April 20 release of the product.
Alanis Morissette has long been admired for her mezzo-soprano voice and powerful love ballads, as well as her effortlessly cool persona. At a recent performance at SiriusXM, the talented singer/songwriter styled her long strands in loose, covetable ringlets that almost appeared to be falling out from underneath. The resulting effect was casually chic and bohemian, just like Alanis herself.
To achieve this carefree style, start with a frizz serum, like Frederic Fekkai Smooth Finish ($25), to zap frizz. Blow-dry hair straight and with a center part. Then, grab a one-inch barrel curling iron. Position the iron one-third of the way down from your scalp and tightly wind the hair around it, leaving about an inch loose at the end. After about 10 seconds, slowly slide the curling iron out away from the hair, pulling the end gently to release the ringlet. Spritz with hair spray and repeat the curling process around the rest of your head. Finish with a final mist of hair spray for a breezy hairstyle that's a piece of cake to create.
Add Alanis Morissette to the list of celebs who are taking the attachment parenting approach to child rearing. The "Jagged Little Pill" singer appeared on Chelsea Lately last night and shared her experience with her drug-free and natural birth, the family bed, and and how she and husband Mario "MC Souleye" Treadway maintain their sex life with 18-month-old Ever in their bed.
Alanis Morissette hit the AMAs red carpet looking like a Grecian goddess in an ethereal floaty black chiffon dress cinched in with a skinny belt. We love how the high-low hemline, sequined clutch, and ankle strap sandals add a modern touch to her classic look. To finish off her ensemble, the songstress wore her long hair in a gorgeous fishtail braid and bold red lips. What's your verdict?

Rock stars aren't typically the picture of health, but then again, Alanis Morissette isn't like most rockers. At age 37, she's made a lot of choices toward a more healthy lifestyle. The Canadian star has followed a vegan diet to help prevent cancer, completed a marathon to raise awareness about eating disorders, and now she's using yoga to rejuvenate and re-energize.
