Penélope Brings To Rome With Love to NYC With Alec and Woody

Penélope Cruz linked up with her To Rome With Love costars yesterday for a press conference in NYC.

Penélope Cruz linked up with her To Rome With Love costars yesterday for a press conference in NYC. Along with Ellen Page, Greta Gerwig, and Alec Baldwin, Penélope discussed what it's like working with a director like Woody Allen. Woody himself was in on the fun, along with the other leading lady from the film, Alessandra Mastronardi. Rome is the latest city to get Woody Allen's attention, after he's focused on international hot spots like Barcelona, Paris, and London in recent years. His original inspiration was, of course, the Big Apple. Woody's next project will bring him home to the US, at least, as he's planning to do much of the shooting of his next project — which stars Cate Blanchett, Bradley Cooper, and Alec — in San Francisco. Penélope's upcoming project, meanwhile, will be Ridley Scott's The Counselor.

Rock of Ages: Tom Cruise Doesn't Have Moves Like Jagger

With big hair, wacky musical numbers, and inspired casting choices, Rock of Ages is just as flashy and flamboyant as you would expect from a musical about the rock scene in 1980s LA — but it's not nearly as entertaining as it could be.

With big hair, wacky musical numbers, and inspired casting choices, Rock of Ages is just as flashy and flamboyant as you would expect from a musical about the rock scene in 1980s LA — but it's not nearly as entertaining as it could be. Based on the hit play, the movie has a star-studded cast, with Tom Cruise at center stage as Stacee Jaxx, the biggest rock star in the Rock of Ages universe. Hoping to follow in his footsteps are Drew (Diego Boneta) and Sherrie (Julianne Hough), who are crazy in love and happen to be aspiring singers. They work at The Bourbon Room, a Sunset Strip venue run by Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand, and Catherine Zeta-Jones is the politician's wife who's trying to shut them down.

The characters chronicle their joys, sorrows, and hopes through classic rock hits, which could be a lot of cheesy fun, but instead, it's just cheesy. Rock of Ages has a killer soundtrack and doesn't take itself too seriously, but it's more ridiculous than rocking. To find out why I think the movie falls flat, just keep reading.

Tom Cruise was the man of the hour at last night's Friars Club and Godiva event at The Waldorf-Astoria in Manhattan. Tom was honored with the Entertainment Icon Award, which has only been given out to three other stars, including Cary Grant and Frank Sinatra, in the history of the organization. Tom had the support of multiple famous pals at tonight's special program, with his Rock of Ages costar Alec Baldwin — who was also the emcee — Cuba Gooding Jr., and Matt Lauer all on hand to witness the show. His kids Suri and Connor were also able to witness the moment. There was one person missing, though: Tom's wife, Katie Holmes. She's currently in Asia promoting Artistry on Ice.

Julianne Hough posed alongside her boyfriend, Ryan Seacrest, while her costar Alec Baldwin made the rounds with fiancée Hilaria Thomas. Tom Cruise didn't stay around after the credits rolled, but Malin Akerman and Russell Brand did. The Rock of Ages premiere brought out tons of other stars as well, including writer Justin Theroux, Josh Duhamel, and Zac Efron. The Adam Shankman-directed adaptation of the hit musical opens next Friday on June 15.

If you're ready to rock out Summer-movie style, then you're in luck: the big-screen adaptation of Broadway musical Rock of Ages is coming to theaters on June 15, and we've got tons of awesome pictures from the movie. There's Russell Brand and Alec Baldwin sporting some serious '80s hair, as well as a sweet love story between Diego Boneta and Julianne Hough, but the real draw here is additional looks at Tom Cruise as Stacee Jaxx. The Cannes Film Festival Comes to a Glamorous Close

Diane Kruger graced the red carpet at the closing ceremonies of the Cannes Film Festival today.

Diane Kruger graced the red carpet at the closing ceremonies of the Cannes Film Festival today. She was among the panel of jurors that presented director Michael Haneke's Amour with this year's Palme d’Or, the competition's top prize. Diane kept with her black-and-white theme and, for her final red-carpet appearance, she chose a formal Christian Dior ball gown. She complemented the look with minimal jewelry and showed no signs of the $45,000 engagement-gift necklace Joshua Jackson reportedly purchased for her during their stay in France.

Alec Baldwin and his fiancée, Hilaria Thomas, joined Diane, Adrien Brody, Ewan McGregor, and Jean Dujardin at a screening of Thérèse Desqueyroux, the festival's final event. It was an exciting week of fashion, entertainment, A-list parties, and hot couples, but if you missed any of the star-studded moments, be sure to check out all the photos from the Cannes Film Festival!

The annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala took place at the Hotel du Cap in France yesterday. The glamorous event has occurred during the Cannes Film Festival for almost two decades and this year brought out many stars, including a L'Wren Scott-clad Julianna Margulies and her husband Keith Lieberthal, as well as Alec Baldwin and his fiancée Hilaria Thomas. Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger, in Chanel, continued their red-carpet run with another appearance for the cameras after stepping out most recently for the Nights in Monaco Gala in Monte Carlo. Kirsten Dunst chose blue Louis Vuitton gown and sat with boyfriend and On the Road costar Garrett Hedlund during dinner. Milla Jovovich, who we chatted with last night at L'Oréal's bash, wore a metallic look by Atelier Versace while Kylie Minogue brought a pop of color in red. Petra Nemcova also chose the bright hue while model Doutzen Kroes went with white. Meanwhile, Heidi Klum wore a revealing Marchesa dress.

Milla Jovovich Tells Us Her Cannes Highlight During a Night With Heidi, Alec, and the Hiltons

Last night was a busy one for many celebrities at Cannes.

Last night was a busy one for many celebrities at Cannes. Milla Jovovich was decked out to make the rounds, starting at the Chopard and L'Oréal bash at the Hotel Martinez. She mingled at L'Oréal with fellow brand ambassadors Luisana Lopilato and model Natasha Poly. We caught a moment with Milla at the soiree, and she spoke about what her favorite part of the festival has been. Milla said, "The last two years I brought my daughter, so it's all about getting my work done and getting back to bed to sleep with my little girl. She was all day at the beach — loves it, loves it. She met a little friend here. They're best friends now — in the whole world — after one day together." Milla and her husband Paul W. S. Anderson are the proud parents of 4-year-old Ever.

The next stop on the party agenda was de Grisogono's Glam Extravaganza at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in nearby Antibes. There, Milla caught up with celeb pals like Heidi Klum, Alec Baldwin and his fiancée Hilaria Thomas, Adrien Brody, and the Hilton sisters. Both Nicky and Paris are making the rounds this week. Nicky, though, has her new boyfriend in town, too — we spotted her out on a dinner date with new guy James Rothschild, an English banking heir.
