American Idol Season 6: Sayonara Sanjaya

Finally! Sanjaya has finally been booted!!! Happy Idol days are here again. Looks like all that campaigning by vote for the worst, Howard Stern and more were not powerful enough to convince America to force us to watch someone who should have been gone weeks ago. We were a little upset to see Blake in the bottom three but thankfully he was spared elimination. We did expect to see Simon address the eye roll and we're glad he did. Just makes us love him even more. The most exciting part of the night for me was trying to predict who the most amazing duet will be next week on Idol. My dream duo (since Molly and I were going back and forth on the very important topic at hand over IM last night while watching the episode) is Bono and Madonna. I have a feeling Bono is definitely involved but not sure who the other half is. I am so curious. Tell us, who do you think the surprise duet will be? Hey, so I was totally wrong about the Bono thing - huh. Bono on AI. Granted, he is doing charity work, but still...oh well. Here is hoping the raise an obscene amount of money for Africa!

I was so so sad to see him go. Honestly, he is the only reason I watch the show. I mean I love Blake and I do hope he wins but that is not really enough to make me take the time to watch AI anymore. Plus, I thought it was down right awful that ppl cheered so hard when Sanjaya got voted out. That was such a mean thing. Especially, when Sanjaya is such a sweet sweet kid.

I hope the show next season makes a few changes regarding RULES on voting PLUS I find it rather cruel and inconsiderate/heartless to have someone HAVE to sing immediately after they heard they are booted off. I mean how can anyone do any justice to a performance when they are in such a sad emotional state. I would like to see maybe some clips of their previous performances down memory lane, think in all fairness that would be more humane. It's got to be tuff/stressful to be expected to sing your heart out after receiving devastating news such as that. It was time for him to go but it was also sad seeing the hurt in his eyes.

YES! I was waiting for him to get booted off for so long. Howard Stern didn't win this time but, when i watched it and saw him cry, I felt sorry for him. : ( so long sanjaya...

Bono on American Idol? You think so? Seems a little lowbrow for him.The Sanjaya thing stopped being funny when he started to embrace it himself - although I think still think the concept is interesting, vote for the worst, rebel against manufactured pop stars (although I doubt that was what Howard Stern had in mind).

i'm just thrilled that sanjaya is gone, he's really gross and has absolutely no talent. it was waaaaaay past due.

Glad he's gone. Next to go needs to be Chris Richardson or Lakisha. Nasally is not a type of singing, says the girl with the degree in vocal performance. And Lakisha's a one trick pony. I think Jordin has what it takes to take it all.

I don't think I've ever actually clapped when a contestant was voted off the show! LOL! I know it's mean and I felt super bad especially after I saw him crying but I'm sorry it was time for him to go! It was getting old and annoying having him on the show!

I hear you t_hive, I'm a Blaker Girl and I could care less for Chris. However, I do believe this is a girl's year. Melinda brings it every time. As for the duo next week , maybe this is what the JT/Madonna rumors are about.

No disrespect,but San should have been gone a long time ago. AI has lost a lot of credibility behind Sanjaya. Sure he was a spectacle and all, but he was one at the expense of other singers who really had a shot! If San had won, the show would have not recovered. It would have become a joke!

When you stand in line to audition for AI you are asking for the publicity. I don't feel bad for him at all, he got much more attention than he could have hoped for or should have got.
