Kitty Collins 2 years Why is it when a black woman chooses to wear her hair as it grows from her head naturally, she is labeled some kind of afrocentric activist? anya82 2 years Z is cute, not a dang thing needs to be altered with this beautiful little girl. I hope to have some adorable and happy girls like these one day. Angelina is so blessed. arrowstraite 2 years That 'afrocentric' excuse is so tired. WHERE in AFRICA are women paying $500 to have their hair twisted, braided, waxed into dread locks or weaved? You're taking a valid movement from the 70s when women stopped pressing their hair and wore afros as a statement of ethnicinty equality won by people who actually suffered and ACTED to gain rights. It was a symbolic statement of not being as 'PRESSured' to fit in. Not women who want to use their hair as a fashion statement. Real freedom is wearing your hair as you damn well please because it's how you feel comfortable. How do I know? Because my mother, aunts, cousins and grandmother was one of them. My mother also made a baby with a midwestern white man... cause that's just how badass she is... and she's still black. Actually, in Africa most women prefer to shave their heads bald when it can no longer be combed... are you willing to be that 'afrocentric'? jaan_black 2 years STFU about her hair already unless you know what you're talking about...John looks so cute ojoba 2 years omg whats wrong with zahara's hair? absolutely nothing! scrutinizing a little girl's hair continuously is purely a bad and boring joke.shiloh and zahara with the rest of their siblings are obvious very happy children who like to run and play, hellooo!!! Burkina 2 years popfaninMD there is absolutely nothing wrong with Zahara's hair and she doesn't have to have a "afro-centric" hairstyle, just because of her skin colour. That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Her ponytail is adorable. arrowstraite 2 years DC... home of hair is more important than rent. LOL :OY: arrowstraite 2 years Oh shut up about a child's hair. Not all black people want that mess in their hair anyway. Twists, dreads, weave, blah blah blah. It all looks itchy and hot. Let the child live. ffrski 2 years As a black woman, I say leave Zahara's hair alone. Just because many of us grew up restraining our hair in one way or another (braided, loc'd, straightened, permed), there is really no need for her to wear her hair any specific way. Also, Angie does have one (maybe two) black nannies and I'm sure that know how to care for a black childs hair. Let's, however, not (again) make black hair an issue. MaryMack 2 years Interesting how Cele's adopts Black, White and Asian babies but never PuertoRicans. popfaninMD 2 years ameerah26 - As a black woman who has worn natural African locs for over 9 years and a mother of 2 black daughters who also wear natural hair styles, I'm very familiar with the importance of up keeping natural black hair. (I never suggested pressed or chemically treated hair.) I really admire Angelina and Brad for their multi-racial family. However, if you adopt an African child, it's very important you know how to take care of African hair. Not only is it critcial to keeping her hair healthy, it also affects her self esteem. It's totally understandable Angelina doesn't know how to comb black hair but she should reach out to someone who does. I'm sure she will in time. In the DC area, I've had several loving white mothers who have bi-racial daughters or adopted black daughters come to me to ask me where my daughters get their hair done. Zahara is a beautiful African girl who deserves a nice Afro-centric hairstyle. sunnyheart 2 years I wouldn't let my mother anywhere near me with a brush when I was the age of these girls. There is no need to comment specifically on Zahara's natural hair when Shiloh's natural hair is equally unkept. liliblu 2 years Cute pics!!! It's really nice to see children happy and care free. janekay 2 years i agree..they all look beautiful and happy..especially Z, nothing wrong with her hair at all....as usual Angie could use a couple of burgers, but hey at least she is happy.. Fass 2 years They are such cuties. Nothing's wrong with Z's hair. PERIOD, and they both seem happy and healthy. gossiplovalova 2 years cute. All three look very happy. ameerah26 2 years @ popfaninMD- As an African-American woman I get so sick of people talking about this child's hair. Her hair is NATURAL. She doesn't needed braided, twisted relaxed, flat-ironed or pressed. She is a little girl. And when she is of age she can decide what she would like done with her hair. She may decide to keep it natural and grow and afro. Let's stop judging black women and girls about their hair. Freyda 2 years Zahara's hair is fine and just as the child wants it to be. She is gorgeous and will be a heartbreaker before Brad has a chance to blink twice. Whose baby? Did Holly have another baby? Love Shiloh in her big bro's hand-me-downs and her amazing little face!!! taylorvon 2 years I don't see anything wrong with Zahara's hair. Btw braiding and twists can put a lost of unnecessary stress on a kid's hair and cause breakage. awesomepants 2 years popfaninMD, I'm sure one of the nannies knows how to braid but I doubt Z can sit still long enough to get her hair braided. I remember Brad spoke about not knowing how to deal with her hair and then went on to say they use Carol's Daughter products. That's pretty much all I remember from that interview. awesomepants 2 years Am I dreaming? Is Jolie in jeans? It must be laundry day. Z will forever be my favourite Jolie-Pitt kid. What a ham. cfp 2 years So cute! And what's wrong with Zahara's hair? I think it looks cute and natural. They don't "need" to do anything to it; she is beautiful as is. popfaninMD 2 years Zahara does look very happy but her hair needs to be done. There are a lot of hair options for African children such as loc'ing, braids, two-stranded twists, etc. Hopefully they have black friends that can advise them.
