>> Back in June, Laetitia Casta shot a mysterious campaign with Annie Leibovitz for Louis Vuitton, and now we get to see the product. She follows in an illustrious line of Leibovitz-lensed Louis ads — Catherine Denueve, Sofia Coppola, and Mikhail Gorbachev have all come before her, and Sean Connery is said to be next.

>> INSIDER WIRE —A two million dollar Vanity Fair contract doesn't cover Annie Leibovitz, according to court documents. The photographer is reportedly $715,000 in debt due to unpaid taxes, an aborted book project, and outstanding equipment rental fees. No amount of money is ever enough, eh? [Page Six]

>> INSIDER WIRE —Here's a fun anecdote: Recently Annie Leibovitz assembled Vogue’s photographers for a group portrait, instructing David Bailey to settle himself between the legs of Grace Coddington. “F*** me,” laughed Bailey, “I’m back where I was 46 years ago.” The room fell into an appalled politically-correct silence. “Whoops!” he chortles, relishing the story. Trainas in Training for High-End Gigs
>> Victoria and Vanessa Traina's summer gigs sound very much like those of another set of sisters . . . three years ago. In the Summer of 2005, Ashley Olsen interned for Zac Posen and Mary-Kate Olsen worked with Annie Leibovitz; This summer, Victoria (left) is said to be working in Christian Lacroix's Parisian atelier, while her younger sister Vanessa (right), who just recently appeared in the May 2008 issue of Vogue Paris, is now working in the magazine's editorial department.
Funny how it's all connected — Vanessa styled a video for the Olsens' line The Row a year ago or so — does this bode a high-end line in the making for the Trainas in a few years time?

Sofia, Francis Ford Coppola Take a Louis Vuitton Journey
>> Could this picture be the new Louis Vuitton Journeys ad with Sofia Coppola and Francis Ford Coppola?
There is no official confirmation, other than this photo has the coloring of an Annie Leibovitz shot, the right people framed in it, and the requisite Louis Vuitton monogram tote in plain view.
When asked why she agreed to be in the newest wave of the campaign, Sofia replied: "I liked the ad Annie shot with Keith Richards. It was flattering to be asked. Plus I've known Marc Jacobs since I was 18."
And that's that.

On Our Radar: Sofia and Francis Ford Coppola for Louis Vuitton

The newest additions to the Louis Vuitton Core Values Campaign, which has featured the likes of Keith Richards, Steffi Graf, and Andre Agassi so far, are Sofia and Francis Ford Coppola.
The father-daughter directing duo recently posed for Annie Leibovitz in Argentina as part of the brand's mission to underscore its historical roots in luggage and travel. I can't wait to see what the finished product looks like; I haven't seen Fabcon Sofia model in a while!
Vanity Fair's Funny Women Are Geeky Women
This month's Vanity Fair features a rad cover story on modern comediennes like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Sarah Silverman, and Kristin Wiig. The photo shoot, snapped by legend Annie Leibovitz, has a few concepts: Greek goddesses, Hollywood trainwrecks, and jet-setting hot chicks. What I really appreciated was the prolific use of gadgets as props — iPhones, Blackberries, and MacBook Pros abound!

I love the big wink to these multifaceted and talented ladies — of course they'd be carrying the hottest and latest tech tools (and look amazing doing it)! See if you can spot all the geeky props when you read more
Jennifer, Jessica and Gisele Get Into (A Disney) Character
The fabulous Annie Leibovitz has teamed up with Disney again to shoot the "Year of a Million Dreams" gift promotion ad campaign. In 2007 it was Becks, Beyonce, and Scarlett, and this year Annie's gathered a new group of famous faces to recreate scenes from Disney movies. Gisele joins Mikhail Baryshnikov and Tina Fey (as Tinkerbell — brilliant!) in a scene from Peter Pan, while Jessica Biel takes on the role of Pocahontas (perfectly cast as well). J Lo and Marc are on Aladdin's magic carpet, while Whoopi Goldberg's a Genie in a Bottle. We're used to seeing our favorite celebrities in different roles, but it's always fun to see them reinterpret the classics.

Fab Ad: Nina Ricci Fall/Winter 2007
Although the campaign for Nina Ricci's Fall 2007 collection looks straight out of fantasy land, Annie Leibowitz photographed everything on her property in Rhinebeck, NY. Model Anabela Belikova appears like a wood nymph among the greenery, draped in one of Olivier Theysken's feathery confections. The ambience is ethereal, romantic, and everything that embodies the magical mood of the collection. Are you digging these ads as much as I am?
