Bar Talks About Dating Leo and Their Six-Month Split — Sweet or Contradictory?

Leonardo DiCaprio and Bar Refaeli have one of Hollywood's most private relationships, but she opened up about their romance in a recent interview. She revealed what really happened during their six-month split, and even addressed the persistent engagement rumors. She said:

On their six-month break: "It was a half year for which I am very grateful. I needed it. I came to understand a lot of things about myself. . . I worked on myself [and] I grew up. I didn't know what 'alone' was like. Today I know that a relationship can work only if you know you can be alone and you are not afraid. Today I’m not afraid of being alone."

On the engagement rumors: "I'm not thinking about getting married. I'm still young, not yet 25."

On no PDAs at basketball games: "No one needs to know how we kiss."

On skipping the red carpet: "I am there for him and I am at all the events. . . I just don't walk in hand-in-hand with him. I don't see any reason. I don't need to strike poses with him in front of the cameras."

It's interesting that Bar's happy to talk about Leo, yet she still chooses to keep certain things about their relationship to herself. It's one of the only peeks we've had inside her long history with Leo, so tell us what you think about her comments — are they sweet or strange?

I have a feeling that Leo and Bar are getting married soon. Bar is speaking like a women already engaged and ready to make babies. In an Israeli interview she said that her children will be raised both in Los Angeles and Israel. So I'm assuming that Leo and Bar are already in discussions about getting marriage and starting a family. Their marriage won't last but all the signs are pointing to a wedding soon.

She is obviously promoting something soon. She is desperate for attention and publicity; so she talks about the only thing she has left. His friends barely mention that they know him in interviews. he is soo private and she goes blabbing. This looks like the end of the line for her. Good Riddance.

Leo has been my celeb crush for as long as I can remember. That said, I love them together. I really like Bar a lot, I think she's very pretty, I like that she's not over the top. I don't see anything wrong with what she said in the interview....

I agree with her on her first comment that "a relationship can work only if you know you can be alone and you are not afraid". Our country has the highest rate of divorcing but also is a relationship-obssessed country. If you are not in a relationship, people would look at you like you are either you are too picky or you are abnormal or you are a loser that no one likes you, ect...It's hard to find a person who would give you an option like you want to be alone and enjoy the freedom or you are just not ready for a relationship yet or you haven't found the right one...With this kind of pressure, so many people have settled for less than what they deserve and, first, it leads them to miserable life then it leads them to a big D that costs them a fortune. So, anyone who isn't afraid to be alone or being judged as abnormal or too picky, ect...is strong and mature enough to have a long-run and happy relationship.

This is the most she has said about him in the whole time she has been linked to him and I think she is just trying to cover her (fat) *ss b/c maybe she knows her career is not going to be on the same level as Giselle or any of the other real supermodels. Prior to dating Leo, no one knew who she was outside of Israel. I think she is trying to make it sound like he didn't dump her last summer b/c she wanted to get married then and he doesn't want to marry her. If he wanted to, he would have done so by now. I read somewhere that most models "careers" are pretty much over by age 25. The more successful models branch themselves out with clothing lines, perfume, jewelry and so on. She hasn't done anything but bikini's and a bra/panty ad there and there. She made those comments about "being there for him" and "goes to all the events" but the truth is she hasn't been been to ANY red carpet events w/him this whole time. She has gone to pre-parties or after-parties but NEVER has she gone w/him as his date to a premier or awards shows. That Peace Charity dinner she managed to go w/him and his mom and showed up in PANTS for crying out loud and she was so busy taking pics of plp she didn't see that her hair was all up in the food on her plate! No manners at all! She just wants plp to think all is well w/Leo when I place my bets on him dumping her yet again (and hopefully for good!). As to the not thinking she needs to hold hands and "strike a pose" -does she know how stupid she sounds? Most couples have no problems being seen at each others events and showing PDA and I can't think of any other couple that do this behavior. Who does she think she is kidding? As to her not thinking of marriage, I agree w/the poster that said she sure was thinking of it when it got her out of serving the military, didn't it? You can bet Barfy is still thinking of marriage and its all about $$$ to her.

I like this girl a lot. I think she is very realistic. She knows how to keep their relationship out of the spotlight to the minimal.

I think its fine that she's saying what she wants to say about the relationship..just because they are celebrities doesn't mean we need to know everything about their lives and relationships. Let them be!

Nobody said she denied it but she dodged the questions about him before. Bar doesn`t sound mature or independent to me based on this interview. I don`t like her and Leo could do way better than her.

i dont think its bad at all what she is saying. i think her words are mature and show her independent spirit. what she says is not anything revealing at all, but rather she is commenting about how she has a boyfriend, and while they broke up she grew as a person. whats so bad about that? she cannot deny that she is with leo.

lunyjoy, I couldn`t agree more. She needed those 6 months to realize that she ( or rather her career ) needs Leo really bad. While they were off nobody really cared of her in spite of her leaked SI shots. They got back together and the usual engagement rumors started and now this interview.
