Bella & Dita Talk High School, Lipstick and MAC
Dita Von Teese looked perfectly pristine unveiling her new PETA ad campaign in Hollywood this week. Never a hair out of place with her. Speaking of which, our very own Bella got a chance to sit down and chat with Dita when she was recently in SF with MAC's Viva Glam campaign. In the video Dita looks, as expected, amazingly gorgeous and composed — what I didn't expect is that she does all of her own hair and make-up for her appearances! No wonder she's got a beauty book coming out. Watch Bella's interview here, it'll probably make you love Dita even more than you already do. It certainly did for me.

4I had the chance to meet Dita backstage at the Orlando Hard Rock before a MM concert. She was very gracious, sweet, and put together. She told me she was very bored, with only a tv to watch and that MM didnt talk to anyone including her before going onstage. It was before they were married. I really like her, not only because she is gorgeous but because she knows who she is, and doesnt compromise that.
5She's actually a really lovely person. People call her the "Bettie Page of Our Time". I personally think NO ONE can replace Bettie Page but eh. Anyway, other than the FUGLY fact that she was married to Marilyn Manson for a short time (they dated longer than they stayed married), she's more of an underground celebrity. She did burlesque for a LONG time and posed for Playboy a couple of times. She's one of Hef's faves but that's because Hef loves anything "old school glamour". Marilyn Manson got her the ticket in the industry. Ever since then, she's been recognized more and more and now, she's a fashionista
She's more photogenic than anything. She has average
looks in person.
PS... It shouldn't be a shocker that she does her own makeup. I mean, look at her. It consists of the basics.

10I think she's cool. She's an original. I personally couldn't do this look everyday, but I think she pulls it off well. And I think she's even prettier without makeup.

12I adore her. Basic beauty is the best. Nothing says gorgeous more than not having to bleach your hair in order to be "beautiful". Im so sick of that.
13She's always so pretty. If I could complain about anything, it might be the Lee-Press-On-Nails look, but I guess that goes with the whole old style glamor thing.
I checked out the link that GloWorm posted. Not sure if it's "no" makeup or "minimal" makeup, but she's still a pretty lady. I noticed she was wearing the same nails in those pictures. She must love those things!

23Yes nya...i totally agree about there being too many blonde hybrids. Dita is actually a natural blonde...although i think the black is just waaay more striking on her. I've seen a recent photograph of her wearing a blond wig and it just doesnt do as much for her. I'm the same...a natural blonde but my hair is two tone red and black in the Bettie Page style...i love it...its way more fun than being blonde in a sea of blondes in California.

That's because she's a tightlacer. I've heard she can get it down to 16.5". Tightlacers' internal organs actually move to new positions over time, with rib cages tapering in way more than they do normally. Dita's such a petite person to begin with that it looks fine on her. Sometimes tightlacers just look bizarre...
31This woman is amazing. I read that someone once came up to her told her that she wasn't that beautiful, and Dita responded by saying something like, "I know -- isn't it fabulous!" -- her point being that someone like her could do what she does regardless of the fact that she doesn't consider herself to be amazingly beautiful. Her response just made me adore her all the more. She epitomizes what it means to fully embrace being a woman: not just care of physical appearance, but having graciousness, elegance, personality, charm, ... i could go on and on about this magical being of a woman...
