Beyoncé Knowles unbuttoned her Dolce & Gabbana blazer and showed off her baby bump at the end of her VMA performance this evening. Beyoncé did an amazing rendition of "Love on Top" from her album 4 and at the end she took the chance to embrace her growing belly in front of all her fans. Beyoncé announced her pregnancy on the red carpet this morning and she kicked off her performance by saying to the crowd, "I want you to feel the love that's growing inside of me." Her husband Jay-Z was in the audience, and he beamed while Beyoncé stripped down and Kanye West gave him congratulatory pats on the back. Jay-Z and Kanye performed "Otis" earlier in the show, but Beyoncé stole the show with her exciting announcement.

EBHeart sent me a private message about my comment - wrong move...fall back, Beyonce doesn't care about your @$$ and if you're so much in love, here's a tidbit: when I worked for Sony (Columbia Records falls under that umbrella) back in 2000 she became pregnant with Mos Def's kid during that ghetto "Hip Hopera" (lame) they aired on MTV...they had to give her a "respiratory infection" in the media so Destiny's Child had a reason to take off 3 weeks after her abortion - I work in this field so I see the real BS and I'm impressed by little so sit and idolize away you little "fan" but do not address me about my views...Jay-Z is fug to ME, I like attractive men

Maybe if she wasn't already such a publicity hound and have an entire career built on melodrama and a false (albeit marketable and highly profitable) sense of female empowerment accomplished by songs written with a twelve year old's vernacular...people wouldn't take offense.Some people just don't see her presence as purposeful. A well balanced adult can accept the opinion of others and move on. I personally have given birth to three children, have rubbed my belly all three times but I didn't not stand in the entrance of the mall rubbing it expecting to collect tips in a hat for simply accomplishing what two crackheads can do. The most mindless and simple biological process is reproduction. So why do we congratulate people for having sex that just so happened to result in the body doing it's job? It's not jealousy, it's just not projecting celebrity-sheeplike behavior. In short, I just don't like the b*.

This just proves that no matter who the celebrity is or how they live their life people will find reasons to criticize and be mean (read: jealous). Beyonce isn't my favorite entertainer, but I am happy for her. Her and Jay-Z seem to have such a stable relationship. I'm sure their home will be a great place for children. And my two cents, she looks well into her 2nd trimester and obviously pregnant. I'm sure maternity pants are a lot more comfortable especially for a stage performance. When you are thin or normal any belly feels like a belly. And how dare she rub her own stomach, it's so obscene! Next thing you'll know she'll want to breast feed. I think it's sweet she wants to celebrate her happiness with her fans and I am she got to do the announcing herself and on her terms, not some tabloids.

I'm really happy for her, she's positively glowing on every picture.. What puts me off is how she flaunted her belly on stage, and perhaps even that she announced her pregnancy on the VMA's. I get it that she's happy and excited about being pregnant, but it was a bit too much for me. It's funny, I've always thought of her as a really private person.

Wow, ladies! When I found out I was expecting my daughter, I instantly started rubbing my stomach! It was almost some sort of instinct, haha. She is clearly excited. This is her first child and they've taken the time to wait and plan for their baby. Give her a break. They both look as though they are really thrilled.

oh c'mon, what's the big deal, she's happy and she can rub her tummy which ever way she wants.. whatever people. It does seem like she's farther along.. she's probably at least 3-4 months pregnant, good for her to stay quiet for such a long time..

All stars do the belly rub. It's to say "I'm not just fat like regular folks- I'm pregnant." It's just vanity and if you think otherwise then you just rolled from under a head of cabbage. She will be posing like that until she loses the belly fat after the baby's born.
