Brad's Back To Doing Good Down South

Brad showed us how to make a hard hat look sexy with the help of his aviator sunglasses in New Orleans this morning. It doesn't hurt his appeal that he's doing good and working on the Holy Cross project, an eco-friendly organization that has been helping re-build houses since Hurricane Katrina. Brad will be sharing his progress with Ann Curry for an interview that will air on the Today Show tomorrow and Thursday. We bet Angelina and the kids miss Brad while they're back in Chicago, but luckily this way they'll still get to see his smiling face.

It's good to see him there. Maybe a lot more of them will look at Brad and see that actions speak louder than words. I mean if we were asked by Brad & his people to help out, if we were just passing through then we would. But when the other celebs stand on the curb (Meaning in Hollywood behind a camera) and they ask us to do something while they did nothing, then we may help once we know about the problem. But we won't praise them for work that they never did like we had worked had and done. Brad is praised for this because he is doing what he said he would do and he's not looking for priase. But Brad is priased, as well he should be.

I completely agree, Hotstuff. I love Brad and Angelina. And I also definitley understand why some people from Texas are frustrated with some of the former New Orleans residents now living in their state. However, they also aren't seeing the other side of the picture -- residents that have returned to New Orleans and the surrounding areas and trying to rebuild. I was in San Antonio and Corpus Christi two days ago and I saw hundreds of buses, army, and emergency vehicles heading down to the coast to prepare for Denis, which was threatening Mexico. That kind of preparedness is amazing and will never be seen in Louisiana, even now. Tia, I totally agree about your insurance comments. There are many people abusing government money, but this was happening throughout New Orleans before the hurricane. Insurance companies are flat out screwing cilents, and comparing flooding to a house fire is completely different. Sadly, many people would have been lucky if their house had burned down. However, Tia, Katrina made landfall as a category 3 hurricane and was west of New Orleans. The strongest part of a hurricane is east of the eye...

tia im not sure were you live but im from SA, TX as you may know and i saw first hand we took thousands of victims and the ones that i have come in contact with were out using the money in clubs it got to the point that there was a big coverage news wise about this, the sad part is people who had been on waiting list for 2 years for housing were knocked down to acomodate the victims, so now there wait time is up to 3 years mind you people that work but dont make enough to pay a mortgage, and i know this because one of my boyfriends sister is a big shot for the housing authority here in SA, dont you think that is sad, we are the first to help when no one will, and the last to be helped when we need, THANK YOU PRESIDENT BUSH and that is not a thank you from my heart that is a sarcastic thank you

And that's great...but understand that very, very few people are looking to the government to help them rebuild their homes. They were counting on the insurance companies that are presently trying to cheat them, and begs the question "why do I pay insurance!!!"....but in theory why shouldn't the government help them...the government helped the 9/11 Widows, made them overnight millionaires...who, although still painful, lost a loved one...not their home, not their neighborhood, not their livelihood...

Understood...but if my house burned down I wouldn't look to the governement to replace EVERYTHING I owned. There is such a thing as taking responsibility and doing things to assure that you are NOT in a mess when things like this happens. My daughter is 16 an I'm making her pay her own insurance for her car. I hope nothing happens ofcourse, but she has to learn that if something does happen she needs to know what she has to do to protect herself.

I really don't want to get into the Katrina argument, but I will say that, well before "Katrina", New Orleans was a city with problems. Schools were in disarray, there was corruption, desolate levels of poverty...mix that with a disaster that practically levels your city due to a man-made mistake (the levies)...Katrina was a category 2, that actually missed New Orleans...it was the amount of rain that the levies couldn't contain. Someone said that they saw people with "Federal Cards" buying things...can I just say if I've lost everything, and I'm given $2000...what can you buy with that, not a house, not the pictures, not the family, not the clothes, not the trinkets, image losing the small things, the things that you don't even notice until it's gone, you can't buy anything with money like that. And I won't blame Mayor Nagin for anything...it's like marshall law down there!!!

seasick ohh yes that is george strait, btw i think he is the hottest man alive, and then comes robert horry, will smith, tony parker, brad pitt, ha ha i love george ive met him once, once because my brother in law works at bmw, and george was there looking at cars so my brother in law called to let me know he was there i got there like in 10 minutes, and drooled the whole time, my brother in law told him shes 23 but she is your number 1 fan she worships you so he signed an autograph, and said thanks and i had to leave

Pink is that George Strait? I love him! I went to the horse races one time in San Antonio..I moved closer to the very front so I could see better.. a security gaurd came over, tapped me on my shoulder and said "I'm sorry mamn you'll have to move, that's George Strait's chair"..lol

People around the country only saw what the media put out..they don't know what it was like to have to live through the mess of what Katrina caused in "other" cities trying to help.

we had so many katrina victims here in san antonio,texas and yes i do believe that most of them are doing nothing to better themselves, i inderstand they went through something very tragic, what about our soldiers who see death or kill on a daily basis thats who i feel sorry for, and come home all messed up in the head and are turned away because no one wants to deal with them or their conditions, katrina victims feel the world is owed to them, i understand children and elderly, but not healthy people capable of getting on their feet and working, and those are the ones complaining using it as an excuse, the majority of our katrina clients expect so much from my lawfirm, demanding loans all the time when they are capable of working, ive only met ONE katrina person who actually wanted to work and works at one of my attorney friends lawfirm, btw brad looks so damn hat, prefer the hard hat over the fedora and day

I'm from NE Louisiana and while I don't want to get into any arguments, I just wanted to say two things. (1) My blind 85 year old aunt got out of NO in time. Buses were provided. Shelters and housing were provided. You didn't have to have money to get out. And they had plenty of time to leave. (2) One of my good friends is a member of a volunteer rescue unit here in my town. He went to NO to try to help, single-handedly rescued 20 people ... and was SHOT at at least twice. Disasters do happen. It was horrible, no matter whose fault it was. But now it's time to rebuild and move on.

Mister Thats EXACTLY why I can appreciate and not look down on the help from Brad and Angelina. At least they are helping any way they can!!! Lets face it these are people who could hang it all up and never ever have to work another day in their lives. They could live a fabulous life with their kids on some secluded island yet they decide to move their family to New Orleans and that alone will have people saying hey if they feel safe enough or interested enough to go maybe I can go!
