Can Britney Still Be Saved by Her Family?

Britney's parents showed up late last night in the midst of her tearful breakdown. Her relationship with Lynne has obviously been strained in the past year, but it looks like they were making some progress at the drugstore last night. Rumor has it that her family may finally be staging an intervention this week to get Britney the treatment that she obviously needs. So tell us — can Britney still be saved by her family?

She needs mental help so no her family alone cannot help her. They need to be there to support her while she gets professional help. It's the only way she's going to heal. She needs to be in an inpatient facility too so that no one can get to her that has bad intentions.

i think that if the paparazzi left her alone then she wouldn't be having to deal with the problems she's having to face today.....someone should put a stop to the paparazzi, its not fair on her or any other celebrity having to deal with them!

I hate to be negative but I don't think there is any getting better for her. Not for a LONG LONG time. She'll never be taken serious again.

They might be able to help her if she's willing to admit she needs help. I'm not sure she will want to admit that, but unless she does, I don't think anyone can help Britney.

Never care for her music or her style. But yeah, it's getting annoying, she needs to 'cool off' and disappear from the public eye for awhile (like the stint LL pulled off), maybe she can get better. She has 2 little babes who need her. I feel sorry for her kids, regardless how 'rich' the kids get, they still need their mom.

Lutfi said there was no intervention last night, but then said Britney's family "barged in." For the record, the family is staging an intervention and Lutfi has been kept in the dark. Lutfi said of the family, "They have an agenda. Their agenda is jealously because they don't fit in. I do. They see her three times a year." Britney was by the phone during Lutfi's conversation with Levin. Lutfi claimed he did not force Britney to buy a car, asking Brit, "Did I force you to buy a car." In a heavy southern accent she responded, "No." He continued, "Do I ever bug you." She replied, "We argue." Lutfi said Britney's mom is fine with him -- it's her dad who's a problem. Family sources tell TMZ that's baloney -- both Lynne and Jamie "are on the same page," feeling like Sam is a "megalomaniac" who is motivated by "evil." He's got a grip on her and he ain't letting go. What he did to Danny Haines psychologically is probably nothing compared to what he is doing to her. :O

db and Woop you're so right. That is a perfect point Woop about an enabler refusing to support them anymore! I can't see Sam being willing to jeopardize his monthly paycheck for her wellness. I think Britney's boatload of money is a big factor, it allows her to do whatever she wants, if someone doesn't agree with her "off with their heads." The only reason she isn't getting anywhere with the courts, is because her money doesn't mean a thing. I keep thinking thank goodness someone is holding her to her actions!!

From what I've seen of the A&E show Intervention, the enablers have to stand up to the addict and refuse to support them anymore if they do not agree to treatment. Sam and Alli will not jeopardize any access they have with her so any "threat" they make for her refusal to get help will not hold water. So her family says they will not enable her any further if she doesn't get treatment? Big deal. In her mind, they need her more than she needs them. Financially, that's true but what does she care? If getting her precious boys taken from her doesn't even phase her, what the hell can any threat from anyone else do? So the enablers say they will leave? There's plenty of people who are dying to take their places just to be by britney's side. One look outside her gate or at the fanboards will show you that.

The only way an intervention would work is if SHE wanted it happen. Anyway, Lutfi had her over at the Mercedes dealership shopping for a new ride. Her mom was there, but so what. Not much personal progress happenin'.

I think she can do it... and then write a book about it. She's young and she can bounce back. I think a lot of people will still love her and hope to see her succeed.

I am so agreeing with page two of this thread! I read in the news that a doctor had stated something like: "until she is free and clear from drugs and alcohol for several weeks, an accurate diagnosis of mental illness is impossible". I personally think that she has chemical dependency in addition to self-obsession with herself in the media. She has ALWAYS rebelled from authority and people telling her what to do. And she has always been a little strange. Example one: Remember a long time ago when Fred Durst claimed they were "in love"? (This was right after she broke up with Justin). He was on Howard Stern and said that she came to a recording session wearing a see-through top, and was obviously after him, and they started spending time together, etc. Then when he went public she called him a liar and said they were never together at all. Sounds like Fred is telling the truth now, huh? :-) The girl LOVES clothes that are totally inappropriate! And she throws herself at nasty men. I'm just saying...the clues have been there for a LOT longer than most people realize.

Britney is just selfish. She doesn't care about anyone but herself. I know that's not anything new to you guys but it kills me how there are some people who still want to run around in the rain or any condition just to get a picture of this warthog. I hope there comes a day where no one is interested in her and she finally sees herself for what she really is and how much of her life she wasted for nothing.

whatever i'm sure after years of her crazy patterns of behavior something is wrong with her...she is just a big spoiled brat that is just pissed that the whole world isn't oohing & ahhing over her every move. Otherwise why is she hanging out at rite aids & starbucks & being friends with NO ONE but paps & disposable assistants? She had babies & got married for fleeting media attentions & she is just pathetic. I could go on & on but I have my own children (2 & 3) that I should be paying attention to...
