Does Gossip Girl Deserve the Title of Best Show Ever?

The cast of Gossip Girl left the designer clothes at home and stripped down to their undies for the cover of New York magazine. These kids are no strangers to using sex to sell the show, but just as eye-catching as the cover models is the headline that reads "Best. Show. Ever."

Don't get us wrong, we love this show and are counting the minutes to tonight's episode, but this is definitely a bold statement. What do you think — is Gossip Girl the best show ever?

don't get me wrong i LOVE this show... but BEST show ever? not exactly... its great and all but i would watch The Office (THE best show ever, in my opinion! haha) over it any day. ...the clothes are amazing though...

I think it is a great show.... one of my favorite in fact!!!! But I just wanted to point out that there is a * after BEST SHOW EVER. and then at the bottom of the page it says "Not really. But there is a lot to be said for it. 5,097 words, in fact."

It's very nice, nevertheless I wouldn't call it the best show ever. What about Desperate Houswives and Grey's Anatomy? They're my favourites - IMO Gossip Girl can hardly beat them.

GossipGirls is socially irresponsible and sad considering 25% of teenage girls have an STD and this is the only age group AIDs and HIV is rising in to have yet another show promoting casual sex. And whats with the "F" word in their advertising? Do we really want to tell teenagers, both girls and boys, that the most thrilling thing about them is their sexuality? How reductive! And we wonder why suicide is the second cause of death in this age group. Meaningless, exploitive, and depressing.

This reminds me of an old friends promotional photo. They weren't in underwear but something about the positions reminds of that photo. I don't think this show could be considered the "best show ever" because I do not see it having longevity. I think the hype will die down and then that will be it, maybe another season or two. I am not sure what would be the best show ever, by this isn't it.
