Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy spent a sunny day with their son, Bing, in Santa Monica yesterday. The couple also left their little one behind for a date night at the Chateau Marmont last night. The family is back in the LA area after they took a short trip to Santa Barbara with Kate's stepdad, Kurt Russell. Kate, Matthew, and Kurt visited a winery on Monday while Kate's fashionable Hollywood peers were busy in NYC attending the 2013 Met Gala. She may have opted to skip the Big Apple bash to spend time with her family as she will be back to work again soon. Kate will pack up and head off to London by the end of this month to begin filming for Good People with James Franco. However, before she leaves for London, Kate will spend Mother's Day with her mom, Goldie Hawn. Kate and Goldie told POPSUGAR Beauty that they are planning to spend the weekend together at a spa in the desert, complete with pampering, hiking, and a game of tennis.
Reese Witherspoon reunited with her ex-husband, Ryan Phillippe, for an afternoon with their kids, Ava and Deacon, yesterday in LA. The couple were brought together to watch Ava compete in a track meet, which Deacon came along to watch. Reese and Ryan often meet up at sporting events for their children and were last seen sharing the sidelines at Deacon's flag football game in December.
Reese returned to LA over the weekend after spending time in Atlanta on the set of The Good Lie last week. Her airport attire, which included an Atlanta Police hat, turned heads following her involvement with the organization last month. An officer from the department later questioned the authenticity of the item and revealed that they "did not send her that hat." Whether Reese was trying to make a statement or not, she's already been ordered to pay a fine for the disorderly conduct charges that were brought against her last month. Jim, however, faces more serious consequences for his DUI charge and was sentenced to a 12-month probation on top of 40 hours of community service.
Jennifer Garner had a smiley time with Violet when she took her to a karate class in Santa Monica yesterday. The mother-daughter day came after Jen landed in LA yesterday following a short trip. She was most likely working on her new film Draft Day, which began filming in Ohio last week. However, Jen did get in some family time before she headed to her set as she and Ben Affleck took their daughters to Disneyland last weekend. Jennifer Garner and her daughters rode a Dumbo ride at the theme park while proud dad Ben watched from the sidelines. Malin Akerman posted the first picture of her son, Sebastian Zincone, on her Instagram account yesterday. She added the caption, "Did my hair today and this was my son's reaction... I think he likes it ;)" Malin gave birth to Sebastian in April and she's since been laying low near home with her new family of three. Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard ventured out of their LA home and headed to brunch with their newborn daughter, Lincoln, on Sunday. The trio's dining excursion marked the first time we've seen Kristen and Dax out with Lincoln following her birth on March 28. Dax admitted to only having left the house twice since then, when he stepped out to host a CASA of Los Angeles gala last week. Kristen will soon be the one in the hosting spotlight after it was announced that she'll return to the stage for the Country Music Television Awards in June. It'll be her second time heading up the show, though her cohost has yet to be revealed.
Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson touched down at LAX with their daughter, Maxwell, yesterday. The trio returned from a quick trip out of town after taking off together from LA on Friday. Jessica is back home in time to gear up for the Friday finale of Fashion Star, which wraps up the series's second season. Two of Jessica's designers, Garrett Gerson and JesseRay Vasquez, were voted off last week, leaving Jessica with just one contestant, Hunter Bell, as they head into the final show. The fashion competition is wrapping up just in time for Jessica to move on to another big project, the birth of her second child.
