There needs to be a serious push for awareness in this country. Medication helps. It's really that simple. It's like insulin for diabetes, or penicillin for infections. You would never dream of not medicating a physically ill child, but with medication for learning difficulties there's this stigma. Yeah, for a while, the meds totally make you a zombie. It takes time to find the right one(s) and to regulate the dosage. And there's an incredibly high co-morbidity rate between learning difficulties and depression so yeah, that needs to be closely monitored and treated, but once you get the right combination down, it's like a miracle. All those things you hated about yourself and thought were character flaws you just needed to work harder to get rid of -- they all just disappear. It's like magic. You can be a functioning member of society, and it doesn't take all of your brainpower to accomplish simple tasks. You get your life back, and it's awesome. You get to keep your creativity and imagination, you're just not a slave to them anymore. If you really loved your child, you'd want nothing less than that for them. salvia 26 weeks As those of us who are parents know. We go into parenthood with the best of intentions and our set of ideals. Sometimes what you say you will do and what you actually do are two different things. I am here to guide my child and love my child. I can not always be a friend I have to be a parent first. I have no doubt Channing will be a great parent but come back to us in a few years and let us know how it turned out.
