Surf's Up, Scotty! Star Trek Into Darkness Takes Australia

In our Star Trek fan memorabilia wish list, we already have a Mr. Potato Head, an engagement ring, and a Spock oven mitt, but we'll gladly forget those if it means getting our hands on an official Star Trek Into Darkness surfboard.

Katy Perry Sports a Bra Top to Party at Lacoste's Coachella Bash With Famous Friends

Today, the Lacoste L!ve Coachella party continued for a second day, with Elijah Wood manning the turntables for the crowd. Yesterday, Katy Perry stopped to pose for photos with the classic Lacoste alligator as she arrived to the event. Katy, who has been making the rounds at the festival this weekend, donned a tropical-themed bra top and miniskirt by Dolce & Gabbana to the soiree; she even carried a matching pineapple purse. On Friday night, she took in some music at Coachella with her friends Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Katy was one of several recording artists and musicians at the Lacoste event over the weekend, where Alexa Chung played DJ and Rita Ora relaxed in the shade. Meanwhile, Chris Pine, Victoria's Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio, and The Carrie Diaries actress AnnaSophia Robb lounged in a cabana together during the hot desert afternoon, and brothers Joe and Nick Jonas stayed cool in hats and shades as they made the rounds.

We'll be on the ground at Coachella all weekend, bringing you the latest from all the parties and the festival, so be sure to follow POPSUGAR on Twitter to stay up to date on all the action.

Star Trek Into Darkness Trailer: Benedict Cumberbatch Is Not Good at Forgiveness

Zachary Quinto, Chris Pine, and Zoe Saldana are outgunned and outnumbered in the full trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness.

Zachary Quinto, Chris Pine, and Zoe Saldana are outgunned and outnumbered in the full trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness. Benedict Cumberbatch plays the new baddie, and this trailer gives a lot more details about his mysterious character than the last teaser. He's a former top agent out for vengeance after his commanders commit a crime he apparently cannot forgive. Thus, he takes out his anger by attacking London, then assures our old Star Fleet friends that none of them is safe. The new trailer also gives us a lot more footage of Cumberbatch's well-laid plans and the action that follows.

Star Trek Into Darkness, with its murderous villain, looks like it has a more serious undertone than its 2009 predecessor. I can't wait to see Cumberbatch go into full-on bad-guy mode — while some are used to seeing him as the snarky Sherlock Holmes in Sherlock, he seems to have the evil thing down pat. The movie is due in theaters May 17, and you can watch the new trailer after the jump.

Geek Shot: Star Trek at the Oscars

The Oscars brings Hollywood glitz and glamour in a serious way, but geeks may have noticed it's long been missing something of the interstellar variety, but this year's show boldly went where no award show has gone before — with a visit from Captain Kirk.

The Oscars brings Hollywood glitz and glamour in a serious way, but geeks may have noticed it's long been missing something of the interstellar variety, but this year's show boldly went where no award show has gone before — with a visit from Captain Kirk. William Shatner, in costume as Kirk, of course, appeared on screen as a courageous messenger from the future who was there to save Seth MacFarlane in his hosting duties. The one thing that could make this Star Trek cameo even better?

A visit from the 2013 Captain Kirk, Chris Pine, and Lt. Uhura, Zoe Saldana. Extra Trekkie points to those that caught the Star Trek: The Next Generation opening music during their walk on stage. The actors from J.J. Abrams's upcoming Star Trek Into Darkness recounted their early February presentation of the Scientific and Technical Awards (what else?). Should next year's Oscars feature Benedict Cumberbatch, it'll be a Star Trek trifecta.

Which Actor Had the Best Beard on the Oscars Red Carpet?

Tonight's Oscars red carpet brought out many lovely ladies in exquisite gowns, but the men weren't slouches in their accessories department.

Tonight's Oscars red carpet brought out many lovely ladies in exquisite gowns, but the men weren't slouches in their accessories department. Many of Hollywood's most famous men debuted new stubble or kept their usual beards to walk the red carpet. Hugh Jackman, George Clooney, and Ben Affleck all looked distinguished with their facial hair, while Bradley Cooper, Chris Pine, and Justin Theroux went unshaven, too. Tell us — who was your pick for best beard at the Oscars?

See a Little More of Star Trek Into Darkness With a New Teaser

Earlier this month, we got a sneak peek at Star Trek Into Darkness, which essentially indicates that our old pals Kirk (Chris Pine) and Spock (Zachary Quinto) are in for some trouble, courtesy of a brand-new bad guy played by Benedict Cumberbatch. Now we've got another trailer to dissect, which offers up a little more information. Namely, we see that Spock is still going strong with Nyota (Zoe Saldana), and that he's forced to make a decision for the good of his family — but we don't see exactly which family member is in danger. Overall, it's a little more scary, and a lot more intense, which should hold us over until a full trailer arrives.

Star Trek Into Darkness Teaser: Watch Captain Kirk and Co. Run For Their Lives

The Star Trek Into Darkness poster that we saw the other day hinted that villain Benedict Cumberbatch was going to have a taste for destruction, and this brand-new footage confirms just how nasty he's going to be.

The Star Trek Into Darkness poster that we saw the other day hinted that villain Benedict Cumberbatch was going to have a taste for destruction, and this brand-new footage confirms just how nasty he's going to be. In this teaser, we finally get a look at the Star Trek sequel and what Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) and Spock (Zachary Quinto) will be up to, and by the looks of things, it's running from Cumberbatch's character. He's the only person who has any dialogue in this peek, and as he preaches about vengeance and the world not being safe, we see the characters we got to know in the first film, including Uhura (Zoe Saldana), and Sulu (John Cho), along with new faces like Alice Eve.

It's fun to be reunited with the familiar characters, but everyone's in such mortal danger that I'm hoping that there's some fun to this sequel. I can't complain too much — this does look pretty exciting, and I'm curious to get a better look at the insane creature director J.J. Abrams has come up with this time. Star Trek Into Darkness comes out May 17, and you can watch the teaser after the jump.

The two also joked about hanging out with a real biker gang while filming. People Like Us is in theaters today.
