The big winners at last night's Oscars went from the star-studded stage right into the press room to speak to assorted reporters about their honors. Melissa Leo was the first actor of the evening to discuss her new gold, though her priority was apologizing for using a curse word during her acceptance speech. Best supporting actor Christian Bale, however, confessed to missing her colorful remark since he was off at the bar with his wife. Other winners like musician Randy Newman and writer Aaron Sorkin also spoke, with The Social Network scribe saying he's going to think long and hard about his next movie project. The Academy Awards' most anticipated honors went to Natalie Portman and Colin Firth, and the Rodarte-clad actress said that her baby was kicking during the musical numbers like Gwyneth Paltrow's "Coming Home." Colin, meanwhile, joked that his invitation to Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding was lost in the mail, and apparently was still itching to celebrate by dancing.
Oscar Press Room: Christian Bale Missed Melissa Leo's F-Bomb Because He Was at the Bar
Christian Bale was in a happy mood as he celebrated his big win for best supporting actor back the press room. He's been busy filming The 13 Women of Nanjing in China, but he was overjoyed to return home from overseas to such a warm welcome. Bale also talked about how soon we can see Batman again, and admitted that he missed costar Melissa Leo's acceptance speech, because he was having a little too much fun with Dicky.
On the positive response to his performance: "It's just a genuine thing. I'm so flattered when any one person walks up to me [and says] they were really touched by a performance. I really love hearing that. What we do becomes so much bigger than ourselves, and I appreciate that so much. I've been in China, I haven't been part of the campaigning that's been going on. To just get back and hear people tell me how much it means it's just wonderful. This is a very bizarre thing, but at the same time, I can't help but be touched so dearly by it."
On whether or not playing Dicky Eklund is his favorite role: "Every single role that you do is a cherished friend. The point that I believe I made in the speech is that I was thanking David O. Russell for communicating our work so that it meant something to the audience. Because that's where you're out of control. You can do something that really rips you apart on set, but if the director and editors don't take it and make it mean something to the audience, then there is nothing."
On missing Melissa Leo's acceptance speech: "I was at the bar with Dicky [Eklund] and my wife, thinking that it was like the other awards were you could just walk on in and go out, but unfortunately I missed Melissa [Leo]'s acceptance speech, because they wouldn't let me in. I was literally banging on the door with Dicky going "Let us in!" but they wouldn't let me in, so that was my just mistake, and I'll know better if I ever return to the Academy Awards. So I missed the F-bomb, but I've laid down many of them myself before, so I think I know what it's all about."
On where he will keep his statue: "I know I'll get home and my daughter will say, thank you very much, and take that and stick it wherever she wants."
On a response to Charlie Sheen: "Like I said: been in China. No clue."
On how soon we can expect to see him back in the bat suit: "I'm in the middle of filming a movie in China right now, when I finish the movie in China it's straight on to Batman, so absolutely, much more Batman."

What The Fighter Can Teach Us About Being Fit
The Fighter wasn't on my list of movies to see. I'm not a fan of boxing, and underdog sports movies are notorious for their cheese. But the real life story intrigued me, and I've always thought Christian Bale to be a tremendous actor. I am so glad that I saw this film; to say that it's inspiring and well-acted is an understatement, and I already have plans to see it again before it leaves theaters. In the meantime, I am bringing the lessons that I learned from the movie in with me when I hit the gym, yoga mat, and climb a wall. (I'm also dusting off my jump rope!)
- Never say never — In a champion's vocabulary, the word "never" isn't spoken very often. Despite the numerous adversities Micky Ward (Mark Wahlberg) faced, both personal and professional, he didn't give up on his dream of making it back into the ring and walking away a champion. (And he did everything that was required of him to make sure it happened.) Along these same lines, it's never too late to start: whether your dream is to run a marathon or hit the gym three days per week, never isn't an option toward your success.
- Nothing comes without hard work — While having a dream is a good place to start, it means nothing if you're not motivated to do the work. Six-pack abs don't come from dreaming about them, and completing a tri isn't going to happen if you don't get in the water. For Micky, this meant grueling training sessions. It also meant coming face to face with years of family strife, and in some cases turning his back — at least for awhile — on the people he loved most.

Colin Firth celebrated his best actor nod alongside his The King's Speech costars, Helena Bonham Carter and Geoffrey Rush. They also picked up the outstanding cast in a motion picture accolade, and Colin spoke about how fans have connected to the movie. The Fighter's Christian Bale, meanwhile, spoke about how his victory felt pretty "freaking good," and Temple Grandin's Claire Danes commented that her third award season win almost felt excessive. The Modern Family gang was particularly jubilant when they spoke to the assembled reporters, with Eric Stonestreet breaking from the celebrations to once again compliment Sofia Vergara's assets. Natalie, Colin, and The King's Speech Triumph at the SAG Awards
The 17th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards brought together stars of big screen and small at the Shrine Auditorium in LA last night. The winners mirrored the award season trends in all the acting categories, with Natalie Portman, Melissa Leo, Colin Firth, and Christian Bale taking home actors — check out the whole list. Natalie thanked her parents for making sure she didn't become an "ass****" and sent love to her fiancé Benjamin Millepied, who didn't accompany her this time. As for TV, Boardwalk Empire continued to dominate and the crew from Modern Family was recognized in the comedy category. The King's Speech was honored with best ensemble cast, which they accepted with humble thanks. Buzz was reporting from the press room, so check out all the highlights. Hailee Steinfeld hugged her True Grit costar Jeff Bridges, and the two had a lot to celebrate since they each earned Oscar nominations last week! Justin Timberlake hung out with his The Social Network guys Andrew Garfield and Jesse Eisenberg, though their movie didn't score any statues. Jesse was coming straight from hosting SNL, where he finally met Mark Zuckerberg and earned lots of praise from his friends. Christian Bale Says Winning a SAG Award on His Birthday Feels "Pretty Freaking Good!"

After Christian Bale brought home the SAG award tonight — yet another statue for his supporting actor role in The Fighter — he hit the press room to talk about winning, playing Dicky, and an amazing birthday celebration!
- On playing Dicky: "The quiet roles are the hardest ones to be recognized for. [But] This was a loud role — I f**kin' loved it."
- On being grateful to his castmates: "Any performance is dependent on everyone else; it's a domino effect, a collective effort. . . to me I share this with all the other actors."
- On how it feels to win the award on his birthday: "Pretty freaking good."
- On his love for acting: "I got into it early, I would say too early. [But] I had that addiction to it; there's that empathy, getting to walk in other people's shoes. From a psychological perspective, I just find that fascinating."
- On what he'd do if he weren't an actor: "Go nuts, probably."
- On his respect for boxing: "I think there's that element of people laying themselves on the line. That rawness, that vulnerability, that absolute win, or absolute loss. The struggle — I think that [is something] most people can understand, which is so beautifully played out in boxing."
- On other actors that inspire him: "Robert Duvall, one of the finest there's ever been. Gary Oldman, friend of mine, one of the finest as well. Melissa [Leo], Amy [Adams] as well.
