While the eighties may have been sufficient for many designers for fall, it would certainly not be for the haute couture standards. So instead of spending too much money to put on a show, he reminded us just how charming and sweet couture was without the intense media coverage that has made the word "couture" something common, because it is most definitely not. The presentation is an embodiment of the clothes and air surrounding the models, a perfect compliment to a collection that was so reminiscent of the classic Dior reign of fashion: the lacy details and half-dressed models only adding to-never altering, of course- the "New Look" that, when first presented, threw fashion a complete curveball. The result of this was structure, but just enough, bubbled skirts, corseting and another happy palette of couture- infused with hot pinks, a sophistocated raspberry, cheery yellows, and some much appreciated neutrals. Topping it off at the end was the beautifully, almost understated, yet impossibly elegant bridal gown, just frothy enough, and easily straight out of a fairytale.
