Her new red look has been a kaleidoscopic evolution from pastel purple streaks back in August to a dip-dyed purple and pink colorblock earlier this month. The stars got a firsthand look at the handheld device, and some even tried out the phone's special features. Stepping out solo, Liam hung out at the bar and reportedly chatted with partygoers about his engagement news, while Julianne, dressed in an ab-baring blue gown, snapped photos of attendees. Julianne's well-toned body was all over the web earlier this week when the first trailer for Safe Haven was released.
Christina Aguilera took a night off from The Voice to enjoy live performances from Kendrick Lamar and Toro Y Moi. She snuggled up next to boyfriend Matthew Rutler and posed for a photo with Vanessa. It was a minireunion for the cast of The Help, with Octavia Spencer, Allison Janney, and director Tate Taylor on hand for the soiree. The party also brought out stars from the small screen; Glee's Amber Riley and Kevin McHale shared some laughs while Hart of Dixie's Jaime King and Scott Porter chatted with friends.
Bright colors and loads of glitter flood Christina Aguilera's video for her latest single, "Your Body," but what really stands out is her hair. From pin curls to pastel pink wigs, stylist Mark Townsend worked with Christina to get the look exactly right. "Christina is such an inspiration to work with," he said. "[She] showed me references she had collected and told me about the concept of the video and a character formed." That character just happens to be a rough-and-tough lady with a penchant for murdering men in a flurry of paint splatters.
The vintage feel of the hairstyles came from collaboration. "During my whole career I have gravitated toward the hairstyles from the '30s and 40s," Townsend said. "The tight curls in the purple wig on the bed and the 'set' her hair is in when she gets in the tanning bed are probably the most obvious nods to my favorite time periods." The most outrageous looks are the ones where Christina is rocking a pastel style, which she had been seen sporting in her everyday life. And how did he turn the pop princess's hair those electric shades? "I got these amazing blond wigs and used temporary spray-on color for the purple and lavender hues," he said. Cohosts Eva Longoria and George Lopez presided over the ALMA Awards last night in LA. It was their third time emceeing the event together, and they ran a tight ship, considering that Eva, who was also a producer, had 11 outfit changes. After the ladies showed off their style on the ALMA Awards red carpet, the fun began on stage inside the Pasadena Civic Auditorium as honors were passed out to Latino entertainers. Honors went to a Michael Kors-clad Christina Aguilera, the special achievement winner thanks to her philanthropic work, as well as favorite actress in a drama, Colombiana's Zoe Saldana, and favorite movie actor Diego Boneta, from Rock of Ages. Further statues were distributed to Naya Rivera, Rico Rodriguez, and Ryan Lochte, whose mother is Cuban.
The red carpet at last night's ALMA Awards was star-studded. Eva Longoria led the way in a Monique Lhuillier black gown, while Zoe Saldana brought a pop of color in Gucci. Christina Aguilera and Nicole Richie also got the dark memo, each wearing intricate black gowns in Michael Kors and Mathieu Mirano, respectively.
