Christina Hendricks Wears a One-Piece Bathing Suit While on Vacation in Italy

Christina Hendricks lounged in Italy yesterday in her one-piece bathing suit. The gorgeous star of Mad Men is abroad during a break from work back home in the States, though her young costar, Kiernan Shipka, told us production on their AMC series is expected to start again this Summer. For now, though, Christina is enjoying a getaway in Europe, and she had a copy of Jonathan Franzen's best-selling novel Freedom to keep her company while her husband Geoffrey Arend was elsewhere. Christina has been busy during the hiatus with magazine photo shoots and modeling with Vivienne Westwood. In a recent interview, she even spoke about how her curves are all real. Later she touched on her love for Geoffrey, his sweet proposal, and their plans for a family. Christina Hendricks told the Daily Mail:

On how Geoffrey proposed: "I moved to New York as a teenager when I started to model, and there was a restaurant called Il Buco, which was filled with Gothic-looking chandeliers that had weird apples and flames coming out of them. I’d been trying for years to get the owner, Donna, to sell one particular chandelier to me, but she wouldn’t. Geoffrey and I went there one New Year’s Eve and I happened to point it out to him. Then months later, I came home and every inch of our dining room was filled with flowers. Geoffrey was on one knee, so one part of my brain was registering that he was proposing, but then I looked up and saw the chandelier, so the other part of my brain was going: 'How the hell is that chandelier in our house?' He’d commissioned the artist to make Donna a replacement, so she finally relented and sold it to him. I was just crying so much when he proposed. I mean what can you say about a man like that? He’s just so old-fashioned and kind and dreamy."
On how she's the lucky one in their marriage: "I [did] a production of Stephen Sondheim’s musical Company in New York, and even though my husband got offered a very nice job at the same time, he turned it down, saying, 'I’m not missing your Broadway debut.' I mean, he’s just the best husband ever."
On having a family: "I probably need to think about that soon because I’m getting older, but I’m not letting that determine any decisions. I’m on this wonderful show with all these opportunities so it seems crazy to jump out of it. I want to really experience the career for a while, and then I’ll see what happens."

Ok, just happening upon this, but first and and foremost, this woman is almost 37 years old. As far as most Americans go, any woman - let alone one who is overweight - would be LUCKY to be as fine as this woman is, and any man at 37 would be lucky to hit that - do you know why?? Because you can see in her eyes that she's not some ditzy, insecure, vacant creature who starves herself and works out like a maniac so that people won't judge her harshly. She's a grown ass woman, and really men - most of you are much worse in bed than you think you are so you have no business judging women solely on their looks, anyhow. A word of advice: find a woman who can love you despite the fact that you complain too much and don't know how to make a woman orgasm, instead of one who hits the gym every day and probably lays there like a mat during sex because she thinks she looks too good to have to try.

I don't find skinny sexy, but come on she is fat, out of shape , and unhealthy. Worst of all she wants to start having kids, she'll never be under 180 # again.

35% body fat is obese and she is certainly at least that fat. I am so tired of fat American women celebrating themselves as "normal and healthy". No, you aren't normal and healthy by world standards, you've just given up, like a lot of other fat Americans. By the way, her breasts are fake. See her B cups from her playboy pics. Her current big breasts are silicone (with a healthy layer of fat on top). Sad part is she continues to lie about that part. Totally lame.

LOL how can anyone say this woman is "not fat"? she is enourmous she usually has corsets holding it all in. She is not "curvy" curvy is Kelly Brook and Kim Kardashain. Christina Hendricks is overweight and unfit. I dread to think what she looks like in a bikini.

Obesity affects over 30% in the US, and half of all people are overweight. I have no doubt her BMI is at least overweight, if not obese. And her boobs are fake. Google old photos of her, post weight gain but pre boob job. I don't mean from her skinny days, but when she was chubby already. The rest of her body has stayed the same, but her boobs ballooned. I really doubt she gained 15 lbs just in her boobs.....the reason they pass for natural is cuz she did have some natural curves & plenty'o'fat to obscure the implants.

I agree that she looks great on camera and on the red carpet, but I also agree with some of the other posts in that SOME weight loss/toning is in order. While we don't want to send young girls the message that scary skinny is the ideal, we also don't want everyone letting themselves go. No matter what anyone says, a high body mass index not healthy, and the human body is not meant to be so large. Yes, she looks sexy (I'm willing to bet she always wears foundation garments of some sort) but curvaceous as she is, she could stand to lose a few. Her boobs would still be magnificent.

She has such a beautiful face! Her body looks real & womanly. She's got a book to read, not a tab mag. Stop with the "fat" attacks. We can, individually, somewhat control our shapes with food intake & physical activity. That's very personal & strangers shouldn't be so quick to complain about another person's appearance. That's just catty. Maybe jealous too.

I think she's beautiful, but could really use some toning and in turn SOME weight loss, not saying she should loose 50lbs.but at least 15 and she would look much better in that suit and no not a size 0 or 2 or 4 or even 6.

I rarely comment on this site anymore because I am so sad about these anonymous postings but really, Pop, I think you need to do something about this. Type 2 diabetes? REALLY?! And calling others fat or obese for saying positive things about Christina Hendricks? I'm sorry but that is just disrespectful and NOT the tone I want to hear on this site. Just what we need, women attacking other women. As a very fit marathoner (who is not obese, to the rude anonymous posters)...I think she looks beautiful!

DAMN! What kind of support does that bathing suit have? If I had boobs like hers they would already be down to my knees. She looks great. She'll obviously lose a little weight when Mad Men starts filming but right now she seems like she's enjoying her time off and I'd totally pig out if I didn't have to work for a while. She's so lucky because she never seems to gain weight in the face for some reason.

She's stunning!!! She proves that beauty isn't just a size 0. For years I had issues with my body, even though I eat healthy and exercise, and seeing Christina Hendricks has made me feel and see myself as a beautiful woman - even if I'm not a size 2 or a size 0!!
