Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen strike a serious pose on the cover of W's May issue. They portray a married couple in HBO's Hemingway and Gellhorn, and translated their onscreen chemistry to the publication's pages in the sexy spread, which you can see more of when it hits newsstands April 24. Clive and Nicole spoke with the magazine about playing the historical duo, Ernest Hemingway and Martha Gellhorn, but also opened up about their own significant others. Clive even shared the moment he fell in love with wife Sarah-Jane Fenton, while Nicole got serious about her husband Keith Urban's recent throat surgery. Here's more from Nicole and Clive in W:

• Clive on meeting his wife: "After drama school I did a seven-month tour of Europe performing in Romeo and Juliet. I played Romeo. I was at the first rehearsal, thinking, I wonder what Juliet is going to be like, and she came in. She had a corduroy jacket on and was carrying a pile of secondhand books, and her glasses were falling off. I kind of fell in love at that moment."
• Nicole on being raw: "My husband says I’m raw. He thinks the world is not a great place for me because he fears that I’ll be hurt. He says, 'That’s my job: I’ll protect you.'"
• Nicole on not being able to talk to Keith after his throat surgery: "All of those things make you closer. It was sort of profound: to go without his voice, and then to finally hear his voice. What if he sounded different? I was there for his first words, and then we cried. How many people experience their husband’s first words? If that doesn’t bring you closer, you’re not breathing."

Clive Owen was the man in the middle last night when he celebrated the launch of Vertu's Constellation smartphone at Milan's Palazzo Serbelloni with Uma Thurman, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Tilda Swinton, and Michelle Yeoh. Earlier in the day, Clive accompanied a guy pal for a bit of shopping. By the evening, Clive was in his dapper suit to mingle with other friends of the luxury communication company. It's certainly an exclusive brand — the gold version of the Constellation handset retails for $27,000, and the base model starts at $8,400! They've also collaborated in the past with Ferrari on a $25,400 phone. Clive might not have to buy his own model, but things are going well for him professionally. Millennium just picked up Intruders, Clive's thriller from Spanish director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, for distribution in the US with a planned release date in April.

His Intruders opens in Spain today while Killer Elite hits theaters in various European countries later this month. Clive has just wrapped up a busy Summer of jet-setting. He completed work on James Marsh's Shadow Dancers, which costars Andrea Riseborough and Gillian Anderson and is now prepping to report to the set of Cities. In the latter, Clive will play a hedge fund manager living the high life in the run up to the all-time Dow Jones stock market high. Aside from all the filmmaking, Clive's also indulged his philanthropic side. Clive is one of the many stars appearing in The F Word PSA for One along with George Clooney, Jessica Alba, Bono, and more.

Happy Friday! Here's hot Clive Owen striking a hot pose at a photocall at Spain's San Sebastian International Film Festival this morning. His Intruders is screening there, and Clive had director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo as well as costars Carice van Houten, Ella Purnell, Daniel Bruhl, and Pilar Lopez de Ayala for company. The group also attended a press conference for the project. Clive said of their thriller Intruders, "I wouldn't really call it a horror film, it's much deeper, more psychological . . . All the fear and trepidation, the danger in the movie, it's within the characters, so it's a pleasure acting in a role like this. It was an ambitious thing to tie all the elements together and to bring them back on an emotional way. I was hugely excited by the possibilities and that's why I have done it." Clive's fresh off another round of photos and interviews over at Toronto, where he and Jason Statham did press for their movie The Killer Elite last weekend.

The last few days were star-studded ones during the Toronto Film Festival. Jon Hamm joined his movie-making and real-life partner, Jennifer Westfeldt, on Friday evening to premiere their Friends With Kids. Jon and Jennifer had their costars Adam Scott and Megan Fox, who wore a little red dress, on the carpet. Clive Owen was the hottie posing for cameras Saturday at a screening of Killer Elite with costar Jason Statham. Yesterday, Elizabeth Olsen showed off Martha Marcy May Marlene with Hugh Dancy and Sarah Paulson, and Diego Luna joined Gael Garcia Bernal to debut the picture Miss Bala that they produced. Antonio Banderas attended the premiere of Pedro Almodovar's The Skin I Live In with wife Melanie Griffith on his arm. Clive Owen laughed with friends last night after grabbing dinner at Madrid's Orixe restaurant. He's in Spain again after a stint in London, where he joined fellow hottie Michael Fassbender for an Armani party two weeks ago. Clive has been spending a great deal of time in Madrid over the last year, attending soirées and award shows there. He had to travel the world, though, to promote his last film, which came out in April — Trust is out on DVD this week, actually. Next up for Clive will be a stint doing promotional work for Killer Elite ahead of its September release.

It was a meeting of serious hotties last night as Clive Owen and Michael Fassbender both stepped out to attend the Emporio Armani Summer Garden Party! Clive arrived at the company's shop on Bond Street alongside his dancer pal Carlos Acosta. Michael playfully posed for photos alongside Jenny Eisthammer, while Julia Restoin-Roitfeld hung out with her male model boyfriend Robert Konjic. Clive was then off for some late fun at The Box, and he emerged last night still looking dapper in head-to-toe black. He wrapped up his latest fashionable evening after recently traveling to France for Jaeger-Lecoultre's 80th anniversary. There's more jet-setting to come in Clive's future. He'll head to Spain in mid-September for the San Sebastian Film Festival, where his thriller Intruders from director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, will be the opening-night feature.
