Colin Firth and his wife Livia teamed up with Anna Zegna, of Ermenegildo Zegna, to host a dinner at LA's Chateau Marmont last night. The evening was organized in support of Oxfam and the Green Carpet Challenge, a cause close to eco-friendly Livia's heart. She frequently blogs and tweets about wearing recycled ensembles on the red carpet, and yesterday's dress was a creation from one of Kate Middleton's favorite lines, Beulah London.

Livia and Colin made the rounds to chat up their fellow Brit Emily Blunt and her husband John Krasinski. The Vanity Fair crew was well represented with editor in chief Graydon Carter and his wife Anna on hand, in addition to West Coast editor Krista Smith and publisher Edward Menicheschi. Other celebs made the rounds as well, including Cameron Diaz, Kristin Davis, Mia Wasikowska, and Emile Hirsch. Gary Oldman, who's up for a best supporting actor Oscar for his work opposite Colin in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, dropped in to say hello. London's Royal Opera House was buzzing with stars as the BAFTAs kicked off last night. Brad Pitt popped up on the UK red carpet after attending the Berlin Film Festival premiere of In the Land of Blood and Honey with Angelina Jolie on Saturday. He was up for best actor, as was his pal George Clooney, who mingled with Colin Firth and his wife, Livia Giuggioli, on their way into the show. Presenter Penelope Cruz got glamorous in red while nominees Jessica Chastain, Viola Davis, and Meryl Streep followed suit in gorgeous gowns. Michael Fassbender was back in front of the cameras following a win at yesterday's Irish Film and Television Awards in Dublin. Other guys to suit up for the event included Jon Hamm, Jonah Hill, Gary Oldman, and Jean Dujardin. Chris Hemsworth, who is up for the rising star award, also went with black-tie and posed alongside his pregnant wife, Elsa Pataky. What did you think of all the BAFTA red-carpet looks?

Brad, who wore a coat by Dolce & Gabbana over his tuxedo, didn't end up taking home BAFTA gold, since The Artist's Jean Dujardin was declared best actor. Meryl Streep added to her trophy collection with a best actress accolade for The Iron Lady. Octavia Spencer from The Help won best supporting actress, and the corresponding male honor went to Christopher Plummer for Beginners. The Artist also won best picture and best director. Whether they won or lost, many celebs were in a happy mood following the show. Meryl, Octavia, Chris, Elsa, and more went to the official afterparty, and the Weinstein Company hosted another of their famous bashes.

Victoria and Harper Beckham were chic for their trip to London Saturday, and Posh kept the good looks coming at tonight's British Fashion Awards at the city's Savoy Hotel. Inside the celebration, she met up with fellow designers Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney, and milliner Philip Treacy. Kate Moss was also on hand, though without the company of her husband, Jamie Hince.

The elite crowd came together to recognize the year's top talent in UK fashion. A surprised Victoria took home the award for best designer brand and was gifted her first BFA statue by friend Marc Jacobs. The coveted honor of designer of the year went to Alexander McQueen's Sarah Burton, who famously created Kate Middleton's wedding dress, while Stella McCartney was declared this year's red-carpet queen.

James Franco was also busy that afternoon doing press for his movie Sal with costar Val Lauren. Yesterday, Selma Blair showed her postbaby body at a photo call, where she wore a green number from Roland Mouret and premiere for Dark Horse. Colin Firth lent his glamour to the proceedings at events for Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy, and his wife Livia was on hand for a special screening. Livia blogged about the evening for Vogue UK, saying she was more nervous than usual since she wore a dress of her own design. There's more action to come from Italy this week, as the festival continues until Friday.

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy Trailer: There's a Spy Among Firth, Oldman, Hardy, Strong

It's still Summer, but with a few choice trailers, it feels like we're already getting a taste for what awards season will look like.

It's still Summer, but with a few choice trailers, it feels like we're already getting a taste for what awards season will look like. Case in point: the trailer for Cold War-set Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, which looks seriously fantastic. In the adaptation of the 1979 novel, Gary Oldman stars as principal character George Smiley, a detective who has come out of retirement to sniff out a Russian agent working as a spy within the British Secret Intelligence Service.

From the tense preview, we have a few prime suspects for the mole, including Colin Firth, Tom Hardy (rocking a glorious '70s mane), and frequent villain Mark Strong. That stellar cast plus the intense music and voice-over have me excited for some excellent spy drama come this Thanksgiving. The film will be released Nov. 18, so watch the trailer when you read more
