Courteney Cox and her Cougar Town costar Brian Van Holt were joined on the LA set of their TV show yesterday by a pack of four-legged friends. The cast is back to work shooting their third season, and Courteney Cox will direct at least one episode of the comedy this Fall. The cast of Cougar Town always look like they're having a blast on set, and last week things got even more crazy when Busy Philipps tweeted a picture of herself zip-lining off a roof for a scene. Beyond Courteney's primetime responsibilities she's also continuing to dole out beauty and lifestyle advice on the Internet, and in her latest entry, she revealed her favorite nose hair trimmer, ear plugs, and arm-toning hand grip.
Courteney Cox and Busy Philipps joined forces on the set of Cougar Town in LA yesterday. The cast recently got back to work on the third season of the comedy, which is expected to return to the airwaves in November. Courteney will be working with her costars and crew in a new capacity this year — Courteney is set to direct an episode of Cougar Town. She's one of several TV leads who have taken a turn behind the camera on their series. Jon Hamm and John Slattery have both done so on Mad Men, and Kevin Connolly took on double duty for the last season of Entourage, as well. It was Courteney's costar Busy's accessories that gave a hint at an upcoming storyline yesterday — she looked to be wearing an ankle-monitoring bracelet with her platform heels!
Courteney Cox juggled a phone call and her Chanel purse as she ran errands yesterday in LA. The actress has been enjoying her time near home this Summer while she's on hiatus from Cougar Town, though the cast recently got back to work on the series. Earlier this week, she shared a day at the salon with her daughter, Coco, who got blond highlights in her hair during their visit. Courteney has been hanging out with Coco and her female friends during her break from TV, and is also using the time off to indulge in some of her other passions. Courteney recently penned an entry for a beauty blog and also showed off her amazing eye for interior design by sharing a look at her Malibu home with Elle Decor.
Courteney Cox wrapped things up at an LA hair salon yesterday and followed her daughter, Coco, out to their car. Coco was either ready for or fresh from the pool, looking ready for a dip in her swimsuit and tank top! The Summer has given Courteney lots of time to hang out with family during her Cougar Town hiatus. She and her estranged husband, David Arquette, have been separated for nine months but still see each other frequently. David's apparently moved on romantically, as he was recently linked to Joe Francis's ex-wife Christina McLarty. Courteney is using her break from TV to actually get into writing. Courteney Cox wrote about her dry skin for her latest installment on a beauty blog. She tackles the issue with a loofah and oils, writing, "I have the dryest skin! I know I need to drink more water."
Courteney Cox stepped out with a female friend to grab lunch yesterday at Tavern in Brentwood. The restaurant is a favorite for many celebs, including Jennifer Garner. Courteney went casual in jeans and sandals for the midday meal as she continues to enjoy her Summer hiatus from Cougar Town. She's been hanging out with her daughter Coco, and Courteney also celebrated her 47th birthday in June. She and David Arquette haven't commented on whether or not they have plans to reconcile, but the pair have been spending some time together in recent months as they dote on their daughter.
I'm excited to present a post from one of my favorite sites, ShelterPop!
The actress/design enthusiast signs up as xoJane.com's home editor.
It's well-known that home editors have the best-looking houses (not to brag or anything), but the newest editor to join our humble tribe is none other than the stunning (and stunning house inhabitant) Courteney Cox. Over at the already too-much-fun xoJane.com, they've announced that Ms. Cox will share her decorating (and, bonus: beauty) advice.
Her first column's all about beauty products, so we'll have to be patient and wait for her to tackle home. We're hoping there's lots of bargain decor and gossip on her friends' houses. And, oh yeah, tons of cleaning advice, because we like to pretend she actually is Monica Geller and therefore truly anal retentive about cleaning.
Here are a few more of our favorite ShelterPop posts this week:
Courteney Cox and Coco Arquette held hands while out in LA yesterday. The girls seem to be enjoying their Summer break, between trips to the hair salon and ice cream shop. David Arquette has gotten in on some of the fun, but he was off yesterday hosting an Art of Elysium party at his Malibu place alongside Rachel Bilson. Courteney's new residence, however, is also getting lots of attention in the July/August issue of Elle Decor. Courteney gave the shelter magazine an exclusive look inside her "modern barn."
This month, Elle Decor featured Courteney Cox's new Malibu home on its cover. Before pursuing a career in acting, in college, Courteney took courses geared for a path in architecture. Needless to say, she was very involved in the remodeling process. Her entire home reflects a laid-back vibe, but her bathroom really did it for me: part sleek master bath, part beckoning boudoir. Strong marble and oversize iron fixtures are balanced by crushed velvet furnishings upholstered in a surprising hue.
The Mimi Chair ($1,365) from Tonic Home really captures the spirit of Courteney's chair with its wooden feet and similarly curvaceous shell-shape. To bring her personal history to the space, Courteney framed a sketch her father drew in high school. I've rounded up some additional pieces that could bring this feel into your home. Check out the look below!
The first annual Critics' Choice Television Awards brought together some of TV's best this afternoon at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The shows that took home the biggest wins of the day were best drama series Mad Men and best comedy series Modern Family, but many individual actors were honored for their work as well. Busy Philipps embraced Elijah Wood, who presented her with her statuette for best supporting actress in a comedy, before giving an emotional speech on the podium. Sarah Michelle Gellar also took the stage to dole out an honor as she gears up for her own return to the small screen this Fall. She'll star in the new show The Ringer, which requires her to play dual roles as twin sisters on the CW. Lots of stars took advantage of the chance to catch up and pose for pictures backstage. Busy cracked jokes with The Office's B.J. Novak, Jon Hamm got silly with his best leading actor in a drama award, and Modern Family's Sarah Hyland said hello to Community's Danny Pudi. TV fans who want to see all of today's action unfold can tune into the Critics' Choice Television Awards this Wednesday night at 8 p.m., EDT, on the Reelz Channel.
Courteney Cox had her iPad and a box of hair dye in hand as she left the Safire McMillan Canale Salon in Malibu yesterday. It doesn't look like she changed up her hairstyle too much, but her daughter, Coco, recently stepped out with a drastic new 'do. She sported purple and blue streaks in her hair after a visit to the same salon over the weekend. Coco was accompanied by mom Courteney for the trip, just days before Coco turned seven years old, while dad David Arquette took care of some shopping in Beverly Hills. The family met up on Sunday at Disneyland where they might have celebrated any number of exciting things including Coco's birthday, their 12th wedding anniversary, or Courteney's 47th. The actress's birthday is today, and she has her gorgeous newly redesigned oceanside home to enjoy the milestone in. Casa caught up with Courteney Cox's interior designer to get the scoop on the gorgeous house.
