In Watch, Pass or Rent, we're reviewing The Dark Knight Rises. Christian Bale refreezes his role as Batman to save town from the villain, Bane played by Tom Hardy while Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard also join the cast for the last film Christopher Nolan's trilogy.

Becky, what do you think of this movie?
Well, watching this movie is an experience through and through and I absolutely loved it. The only word I can think of to really describe it is exhilarating. I felt like my knuckles were white the whole entire time, my heart was beating in my chest, it just looked amazing, the action sequences were amazing.
I was really satisfied with this movie and there's been so many comic book movies coming out this summer, but this one doesn't feel like any of the rest.
I absolutely agree with you. I adored this movie, I thought it was incredible and I thought that the story kept you on your toes and it made sense as a third film.
You and your friends better batten down the hatches.
While we're talking about what works lets talk about the cats I loved Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He plays the cop that still believes in Batman which is important because this movie takes place eight years after the events from The Dark Knight where Batman had taken the fall for the death of Harvey Dent.
So he hasn't been around at all. And I just thought that Joseph Gordon-Levitt's acting was fantastic, and it felt like he had more screen time that Christian fail, but that was okay for me because I felt like his character was interesting and really strong.
Speaking of Christian Bale's screen time is usually divided into Batman and Bruce Wayne but this movie is really more about Bruce Wayne because he's lost a lot of his faith in life and lots of other things since the death of his love and everything else that happens in the Dark Knight. So this movie's really about him trying to find his strength back and figuring out what he really wants to do with his life, which gives the movie a lot of emotional depth and Christian Bale always pulls that off so easily.
Let's talk about Anne Hathaway who plays Selina Kyle and sort of Catwoman.
I'm adaptable.
I thought she was great. You know there's a lot of controversy about her taking on this part, but I really enjoyed watching her do something little different from what we're usually seeing her do. She's not the girl next door anymore. She's totally the bad ass and she looks great in the costume and it's really just fun to see her doing all these stunts and flipping around, and she has some of the best lines in the movie.
My mother warned me about getting into cars with strange men.
I was afraid that she wasn't going to be edgy enough, but joke's on me because she totally is.
Yeah, and for me she even outshone Tom Hardy who plays Bane as you mentioned earlier and even though he is the real villain of the movie, something about his gimmick got lost on me after the first scenes of the movie because he has this mask on so you can't really see. He's not really acting that much, he's kind of just walking around and saying things.
Your punishment must be more severe.
Well that's really the only part of the movie that didn't work for me was Tom Hardy as Bane just because I could not really understand him that well. He's wearing this mask and he has an accent and he's delivering these climactic speeches that are supposed to be sounding scary and important, but they're just not that freaky when you can't understand the guy.
Yeah I mean my only downside of the movie for me was the fact that it's three hours long, which is great because it goes on for so long, but I had to go to the bathroom about halfway through so that wasn't that great.
So that's our advice: take your bathroom break before the movie, and do not super-size your soda. So, Becky, what's the verdict?
This is a brilliant bookend to Christopher Nolan's trilogy. It has a lot of fun nods and throwback to the earlier films and it lives up to the hype of the must-see movie of the summer.
And I think it's the best movie of the year so far, so we give it a Watch.
