Time Magazine has reported that Dave is not in a mental facility in Africa he simply went for a month for a "spiritual retreat." Dave finally spoke out in reaction to all the rumors running around regarding his mysterious absence. Dave said:

"I'm not crazy, I'm not smoking crack,"
"I'm definitely stressed out,"
"You hear so many voices jockeying for position in your mind that you want to make sure that you hear your own voice," he said. "So I figured, let me just cut myself off from everybody, take a minute and pull a Flintstone — stop a speeding car by using my bare feet as the brakes."

Dave said he hopes to start production on the show but we are still unsure of when he will return.
