David Duchovny Checks Into Rehab For Sex Addiction

Sounds like David Duchovny might be taking his role as womanizer Hank Moody on Californication a little too seriously. The actor has checked himself into rehab for sex addiction. His rep confirmed the news to People with a statement from Duchovny saying, "I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction. I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family." As much as we don't want to believe this is really true, most of all it's just sad for David's wife Tea Leoni and their two children. Hopefully he'll be out and back to his family soon with the problem under control before it causes any more pain.

Some of u people just make me sick. Of all the things in this world that are possible u just cannot believe that a person or people could be addicted to sex and/or have an insanely higher sex drive than that of a normal person. Do we really have to judge others out of our ignorance of these particular issues just because we have never seen or experienced them? I myself have been with my wife for 5 years and have always even before her been a nympho or sex addict. I don't know why or how I got this way, I didn't choose to be this way. In fact I'd rather not have this mind wrenching, physically painful, severely consequential, curse that not only burdens myself but my wife as well. She does not have the sex drive I have and I have been starved for affection and love making for so long that I fell into spell cause by this curse and cheated on my wife, whom I love more than life itself. She hasn't always been so innocent herself, but she hasn't done what I have. The ex boyfriend before i messed up that sucked and now its happening again. So I am also fighting to save my marriage, and my 2 kids futures of a happy family. I was a foster child out of abuse, became a poet and fell in love with love, found it, married it, and am now struggling with it. I have a big heart and have done so much for others and so very little for myself that this in turn has caused me so much grief. I feel like his wife and mine as well should find compassion in their hearts and do what they can to make up for the lackings that come from this curse, comfort us and stand by us. God made me this way for a reason, I don't know why, but I am a good man, and it takes one to know one, just by looking into his eyes I can see that so is David Duchovny. RockAndRepublic Please it isn't even listed in the DSM, so they don't think it's a real disorder either. Before you assume we are uneducated you should see if what we are saying is right.

I was laying on my couch falling asleep when I read on the bottom of the screen on E! that he checked into rehab. I was like 'whatever' but then it said sex addiction, and I was like, whoa David Duchovny!! Hope he gets better.

I agree with you Hazuki. His wife probably wants a divorce and doing this probably saves him if they have a pre-nup. If he cheated he can say it was an illness.He can have my number and I'll help him with that sexual energy.

Also sex plays a good part in making people more mellow. The reasons why bonobos don't fight.) well that's like saying I have an Air addiction, and need help getting over it. We are genetically programed to like and want to have sex. It's completely natural. The person I feel bad for is David having all this nonsense being shoved down his throat. People seriously need to get over themselves.

I didn't realize until I read the comments here that Perez had alluded to this in a blind item. I wouldn't be surprised if David announced this because he knew it had or would leak to the press.
