Ryan Gosling brought a special lady, his mom, Donna, as his date to the second annual Governors Awards in LA on Saturday night. The birthday boy celebrated his 30th at Disneyland on Friday, and while he's had plenty of memorable onstage moments in the past, the evening was all about the honorees like Francis Ford Coppola and Eli Wallach. Sofia Coppola came out to support her dad alongside Natalie Portman in a gorgeous purple Lanvin gown, a Marchesa-wearing Hilary Swank, and Elle Fanning in Valentino. The ladies were joined by guests Stephen Dorff, who recently showed off his shirtless physique, Justin Long, and Josh Brolin, who stuck by his red-hot wife, Diane Lane.

It was another big evening for celebrities in LA last night with the annual Hollywood Awards Gala taking over the Beverly Hilton Hotel. James Franco added a dapper touch to the red carpet after a busy weekend of dinner meetings and attending the 127 Hours junket, while Mila Kunis, who was fresh from promoting Black Swan in London, posed in a black Monique Lhuillier. Leighton Meester was on the West Coast during a break from Gossip Girl duties in NYC, looking fresh and pretty in Elie Saab. Halle Berry picked a similar hue for her latest star-studded event, after bringing Olivier Martinez along for Saturday's Carousel of Hope Ball.

Carey Mulligan, meanwhile, added her own dose of color in a burgundy Giles dress. She was on a break from filming Drive, but it's her personal life that's been making news. Carey apparently really has split from Shia LaBeouf, though yesterday she didn't mention anything about rumored new guy Tom Sturridge. She admitted that another rumor is true too, as she's currently staying at a Best Western hotel. Carey said, "I don't know why people are so down on the Best Western. They have the best sweet potato fries I've ever had." She took the stage once inside the event along with other actors like Zach Galifianakis. A few months ago, we got a peek at the trailer for Secretariat, Disney's inspirational real-life story of a housewife (Diane Lane) who led her horse to the Triple Crown. A few things were clear from the get go, mainly that this is definitely a feel-good tear-jerker with a happy ending. However, there's one person we didn't get to see much of in the preview: Nelsan Ellis, aka True Blood's Lafayette! But thanks to these new exclusive photos, we're getting an even closer look at the movie before the film hits theaters Oct. 8. Vanessa Hudgens, Kristen Bell, and Mandy Moore walked the red carpet on Friday before heading in to take their seats at the Stand Up 2 Cancer phone banks in LA. The hour-long telethon was broadcast on multiple major networks and streamed across the web, and the effort raised more than $100 million dollars for research in the fight against the disease. Modern Family's Sofia Vergara and mom-to-be Christina Applegate, both of whom battled cancer in the past, proudly modeled t-shirts that read "Survivor."

Gwyneth Paltrow arrived on the West Coast on Thursday, ready to add her support to the event after attending Fashion's Night Out in London last week. She caught up with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, while Rob Lowe joined Diane Lane. Cindy Crawford, and Chuck's Zachary Levi helped in collecting donations, and fresh-from-Mexico Ryan Seacrest also lent his star power to the cause. Contributions to the charity are still being accepted, and they're even open to making good use of Facebook credits!

Megan Fox teamed up with her onscreen leading man, Josh Brolin, last night for the LA premiere of their movie Jonah Hex. Inquiring minds wanted to know the latest about Megan's plans to marry longtime boyfriend, Brian Austin Green, but she was vague on the topic. Megan said of their wedding date, "It's going to be years! I'm going to be 44 when I get married!" Since Megan lost her engagement ring shortly after Brian proposed, she instead accessorized her little red dress with floral jewelry. Brian didn't accompany Megan to the screening, but Josh had wife Diane, dad James, and step-mom Barbara Streisand on hand. Buzz wasn't exactly a big fan of Megan and Josh's film, but at least you seemed to like her latest round of ads for Armani underwear.

Famous basketball fans headed to LA's Staples Center last night to watch as the Lakers beat the Celtics in game six of the NBA finals. Leonardo DiCaprio didn't take in the last few match-ups in Boston with Massachusetts fans like Tom Brady, but he was back out yesterday to support his favorite team. Joining Leo was First Lady Michelle Obama, who made special plans to attend after a day of meetings in California. Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green kept their heads down on their way inside, but they have some celebrating to do — they're apparently engaged again! Lenny Kravitz, meanwhile, was happy to smile and wave for fans. Christina Aguilera treated the stadium to the national anthem, afterward joining her husband, Jordan Bratman, to cheer on their hometown players.
