Drew Barrymore Video Interview About Music Video Directing

I heard you karaoked in front of 18,000 people? Yes, I did. What prompted you to do that? I have a fear of stages and I've just always had that fear and it's something that I'm I'm like, "Okay, if I'm gonna do this, I don't do anything half way. I've got to go do this full on." So got that adrenaline rush and I'm like, "Okay. Let's just go do this. If I don't find out, I'm gonna regret it. That is fantastic. I...that's the best way to conquer a fear ever. You're like the best example. That's phenomenal. Well, I know you went sky diving diving to conquer your fear of heights. I did. And I actually went sky diving to kind of conquer my fear of flying. I just thought it would be so fun. But nobody tells you that you can't breathe for like the first 60 seconds because all that air is coming at you. Or that your tongue expands and your mouth gets so dry 'cause you're nervous as like the Altimeter is going up and you're just going higher and higher and you're like, "I have to jump out of this? This is crazy." So, between the dry mouth and the not breathing, those were two things that I actually fear more now, so, but it was super fun. Yeah. Sky diving was an amazing experience. Yeah, and you get to say you sky dived, which is always fun. Is there anything you wanna try next? I would love to run. And I'm not athletic, so it's really ridiculous that I'm even attempting or saying I would like to one day. I'm so far away from it. But one day I would like to be a little bit more of a runner. Do you have any other projects or anything that people might be interested to hear about? Goodness! I'm working on a couple of things as a director. So, I hope one of those will come into Well, do you have any plans to direct any more music videos? I would love to. Do you have any bands or people you'd want to work with? Oh, God, so many! I really love "The Naked and the Famous" right now. Oh yeah. Bit crazy about them and have been for months and so happy to see that they're so popular. And I'm crazy about this "Cage the Elephant" song. That's kind of what's going on rotation right now in my car. I think I know what song you're talking about. Yeah. I heard it on the radio. Yes, yes. I know that song. It's really good.
