During The VMA Party Was The Hotel Room Party

The performances at last night's VMAs were certainly inconsistent. The show kicked off with Britney's lackluster (Scared? Self-conscious? Nonchalant? I can't decide - check it out here) performance and then seemed like it wasn't going to pick up. While I appreciate the nonstop party idea they were going for with all the party suites, I missed all the big performances. That being said Rihanna/Chris Brown, Alicia Keys and Justin/Nelly Furtado/Timbaland were pretty awesome. Seriously, little Mr. Brown has some MOVES! Dayum. The rest of the performances seemed odd, being in hotel rooms and all. Or maybe I was just jealous I wasn't right there as Kanye sang Stronger. What did you think? Highlights? Lowlights?

highlight: all of the performances but the infamous comeback one LOL chris brown's performance was definitely the best, it had me like =O loved it! they definitely should've had kanye open the show, would've loved to see him perform Stronger. I wish I was at his hotel suite where I could've had my own pair of the stripey sunglasses! lol lowlight: Ms. forgetting how to lip synch is my idea of a comeback Spears.

I am VERY VERY VERY disappointed in the VMA's and MTV this year! I think that it was the most horrible idea to hold them in Vegas. I think that Vegas sends a message of non stop partying, drinking, drugs, to all of the very young moldable minds in our country. Reality TV and MTV have given our youth that stupid irresponsible "WHAT HAPPENES HERE STAYS HERE" spring break/vegas message and these kids are not being held responsible for their own actions. It's just too bad that there are no wholesome role modles out there for young people It just seems that the dumber you are (i.e. Miss South Carolina) the more press you get. (P.S. Does anyone even know who actually won Miss Teen USA....b/c she actually didn't) Or the more screwed up on drugs, in rehab, in prison or non panty wearing....the more people talk about you. UGH!!!! It just makes me crazy!!!

I actually liked the VMA's last night(well except for Britneys performance) You could tell the people in the rooms were having a blast.. making me wish I had been in there! Yah I know I may take some hits for liking the show.. but I was never one to run with the crowd..

I didn't watch and I haven't watched the VMAs in years. But I do wish I had seen Chris Brown and Rhianna perform. Britney....Oh sweet Lord! MTV, y'all are so wrong. LOL! She had to be there for comic relief, SHE HAD TO BE! LOL!

Worst VMA's ever. Shame on the event planners. Obviously watching live performances ON STAGE is more engaging than a bunch of people dancing around in hotel rooms. Why they did the show in this format is beyond me. Britney was fat and slow. There is no excuse for her. And shame on MTV for booking her crack-ass. The trainwreck that is Britney Spears is getting tired. The only good thing about Britney's performance was Sarah Silverman's comments afterward. Sarah Silverman has her highs and lows, and yes, she's crass, which is part of why I think she's hilarious. But guess what, she's honest. The people she picks on deserve it.

linkin park, foo fighters, fall out boy, rihanna [in the hotel room] and a few others were the only ones that didn't lip sync. i liked the room shows for that reason. and i loved rihanna rocking out with fall out boy and the guy from gym class heroes.

I was surprised to find that I actually felt a bit sorry for Britney after watching. The performance was dull & she looked nervous.They need to leave Sara Silverman out of the next show. I know that she is going to rip into the latest screwed up celeb, but she was just not at all funny. The only time I giggled was for the python/Madonna joke.I also felt sorry for Jennifer Garner, because I think Jamie Foxx actually spit on her during his rant. I did see her looking irritated & wiping her cheek at one point. I used to love him, but now all I can think, when he is at any event, is "Does he ever shut up?" He has a smoking hot body, though. He needs to take his shirt off more....less talk....more skin!I love JT, but I think Robin Thicke should have won.My favorite performance was Chris Brown. All of that youthful energy! Britney should have asked his people for some help with her routine.

britney was lipsyncing the entire time...yes...but did anyone else notice that she stopped lipsyncing along when she was stepping onto the back of the guy that bent down in front of her when clearly the music was still going? ha. she needs to get back into shape and practice ACTUAL singing.

Did anyone else notice that Britney's dancing was very reminiscent of her old style?...there were no new moves...nothing at all. Just her old style...just not as polished.Maybe it was because they put the kabosh on Criss's part in the performance, she had to pull out an old routine or something. WTF happened there?? MTV freaked? Insurance problems?? What the hell does all that mean? It all just confuses the heck out of me and i have better things to think about! ;D
